So, I’m thinking about the grenades that haven’t been revealed, and I’m thinking it would be pretty cool to have a grenade that actually causes the opponent to dissipate (like the Promethean Knights do in the Campaign Demo) in a yellow-orange glow. It could also possibly work like a Firebomb grenade from Halo 3, where if you miss, it basically stays on the ground and if you run onto it, it causes damage (think flame grenades in Gears 3).
With this comes new medals for hitting them with the grenade, and also a cool sense of satisfaction when you hit them and they melt (or whatever it is they do).
I would prefer a grenade that when it hits the ground it releases a EMP to drain shields. Or if it hit a player it would stick for 5 secs and keep their shields down.
Didn’t like the flame grenades they seemed to be to strong and therefore never used in actual playlists. SO if they go for something like that I would hope the player hit would have some time to get some shots off rather than instant death.
It’ll probably be some type of gravity bomb; either one that just turns gravity off for a few seconds to lift enemies in the air for a few seconds ala Mass Effect, or something that increases gravity to crush enemies.
To your point OP, I’d like a grenade that can be thrown directly at the player for a hard-but-awesome 1HKO, or, if you place it at a doorway, it completely blocks the path for an extended duration, helping strategies like guarding Bomb runs or Flag carries.
I would like to see an EMP impact grenade. When it explodes it takes down shields, and shuts down vehicles and hardlight shields. If you are close enough it will even take out overshields. I think that would be really cool and kind of counter the overshield ordnance drop.
I just want it to set the multiplayer stage for cool action in the sandbox. Whatever it is, I want it to be complicated and add many variables to the sandbox, without being over-powered.
Something that results in temporary low-grav, or something that slows down time, or maybe something that can be disabled.
a MLG player who played spartan ops said that he threw a grenade that was not plasma or frag and it was kinda orange which means its probably a Promethean grenade
Instead of an explosion, there should a massive implosion so great it creates a slipspace portal for a moment sucking in anything within a certain radius.

there was originally a equipment like that in halo 3 but bungie decided to delete it due to having too many bugs and lagging

Perhaps a grenade that is similar to the ‘power drain’ from Halo 3 except has a smaller damage radius.

i imagine it like a frag grenade, that is much more powerful (dessinigrates) but with a smaller blast radius.
