Promethean grenade betrayal.

This topic is for the MP Team at 343 INDUSTRIES. After a Promethean grenade is active in the Arena a betrayal can be earned by the player who deployed it if a team member happens to walk into it. Now mind you Im aware there are players that intend to harm they’re fellow team mates in battle. Earning a betrayal for a team mate running into a Promethean grenade should not earn a betrayal. Im clearly asking can this not be a thing? I love the way the Promethean grenade acts in battle and Im not asking for nerf nor buff but Im asking after its been deployed not to earn a betrayal because a team mate accidentally steps into one. Im also aware of calling out Promethean grenade out to my fellow team mates but they could still accidentally step into one, leading to the player who deployed it a betrayal. I know you guys at 343 are busy with patch notes, testing, creating new content but can time be made this year ( 2016 ) to look into request. Thank you.

I think it would merit a suicide on their part rather than a betrayal on your part, but I can see this being abused if implemented.

if splinter_grenade thrown =<4 seconds = betrayal; else = suicide
Maybe that could work?

I agree 100%.

Perhaps up until 0.5-1 second after it deploys it counts as a betrayal, and after that time it counts as a suicide instead?

This would make intentionally killing team-mates and avoiding a betrayal difficult, and still punish those careless with their grenades.
And as well as not counting as a betrayal for an innocent player, earning a suicide would hopefully help teach the other player to be a little more cautious, and avoid deployed splinter grenades.

Also, while we’re on the subject, earning a betrayal when you stick an enemy with a plasma, who then charged at a team-mate, or worse, the team-mate decides to go in for a melee.
I think that should count as a kill for the player who was stuck, not as a betrayal for the stick-er.

Ohhh, and team-mates who kill an enemy you were clearly assassinating, grrrrr… sorry, getting off the topic now.

i agree, it should be a suicide if they don’t get struck by the initial blast
