Promethean Granade?

Dunno why but I have the feeling this granade is almost totally useless. I thought it was a kind of “shield removing and vehicle disableing”, but it’s not. It removes shields only if you stand exactly inside it, and it does totally nothing to vehicles. Who uses it for real? can someone explain me what the hell of use it has?
I also think that the plasma granade is underpowered, many times I throw it to an enemy and I see it passing through the chest of them and landing behind them without sticking.

I know 343 is new about making games, but they could have at least made something similar to Reach, that was more realistic. The only working granade is the frag, all the others do no damage even if you don’t have shields…

The Pro Grenade is only useful in essentially “blockading” a small passage way. For actual EFFECTIVENESS against enemies, it’s pretty poor, even in the Campaign.

The Plasma Grenade is definitely not under powered. That thing is a vehicle killer, and, in my opinion, just a little bit too strong against them for a loadout weapon.

I agree though about the Promethean grenades. I was only killed once by them because I had no shields and backed up into one without looking as it was exploding.

The prometean grenade is a defensive grenade in my opinion. Or a kind of crowd control. Being chased round a corner with low shield, why not place 2 of them to widen the angle your opponent must come round, or block it completely. Or in capture the flag, you could place one on the flag if ur defending and its getting hairy.

As for the plasmas, I’m sick of seeing them miss a person, then swing back and stick him

I believe they’re suppose to drain the shields of anyone in it’s bubble, and once their shields are done it will explode killing them. The problem is that the grenade is too slow. By the time the bubble does go up, the enemy is already away from the grenade. I was lucky enough to get one kill with it when some fool decided to run right into it with no shields.

But it’s quite good at blocking door ways so that the enemy can’t escape or so I can escape.

Overall, the grenade is pretty worthless. Would have rather had a promethean grenade that acted like the Incinerate Cannon.

The goal was to cut down on the over use of nades. Thats why there blast kill is so small. The frags are the best out of the three. The Promethean nade i find is more of a nade to keep the enemy players at bay. Great in a CTF or Oddball game. BUt over all they arnt the greatest. Iv got i think 3 kills with them.

I think they should increase the speed in which it reduces shields. I would say they should allow it to disable vehicles but I think that will make OP as people will spam them like crazy in BTIS so I think reducing shields at a quicker rate will make it a lot better and also have the same explosion damage as the other grenades so it could actually kill someone.

The Pulse Grenade is great for King of the Hill, especially on the maps with smaller hills. Obliterates everyone in there, and anyone that gets out is one shot and ripe for the picking.

I’m pretty sure when it initially “lights up”, it immediately drains the entire shield (afterward, it drains shields slowly). In that case, I guess it’s sort of useful offensively

The only use I have ever found from it is when someone is around a corner, and I can lob a Pulse Grenade at the wall and have the orb hit him. Other than that, it just makes hitmarkers. The worse part is that you are only able to spawn with 1.
