Promethean/Forerunner Weapons

What kind of Forerunner weapons do you think or hope will be included in Halo Infinite?

I personally think that the current set of Promethean weapons, being the boltshot, light rifle, and suppressor are too bland and like other weapons in Halo’s sandbox. I’d love if all of the Forerunner weapons in Halo Infinite were unique to the sandbox, even down to the grenade!

Imagine a grenade that instead of doing any major damage, launches things around it backward, so it could be used to disrupt vehicles or even for jumping to otherwise inaccessible areas in arenas. I think if many Forerunner weapons took advantage of the physics engine it could really vary the gameplay as well as the encounters in campaign! How about a power weapon that is charged and can two shot anyone that functions similarly to a bow? (although I wouldn’t outright design a bow, but a kind of charge and release weapon would be interesting. Imagine if charging for too long lowers the damage output, favoring well timed shots.)

Weapons like the sentinel beam are unique and have no other counterpart in Halo’s sandbox, and I think that is the best avenue Halo Infinite should pursue with forerunner weapons, as they create unique experiences in multiplayer and would help define certain enemies in AI encounters.

Any other ideas? I love to speculate! I know Halo Infinite is well into it’s design now, but it is fun to imagine what kind of cool weapons could be in store for us come this winter!

Couldnt agree more. Thats why I actually liked the H4 Promethean more that H5. Mainly the Light Rifle. In H4 it actualy felt and played like a mix of both the BR and DMR, when not scoped it shot 3 “bullets” that was even reflected in the ammo counter. Once you scoped in, it felt like a more precise weapon like a DMR which used a single bullet.

I even liked the H4 Binary Rifle more than 5. It was unique and felt like it packed a true punch. If the beam was unlucky to find you that you knew you were a second away from death. In H5 it felt seriously under powered. Soo many times I’d go to use it (another problem…only usable in warzone) and I wouldnt get the kill, its like you have to keep that beam steady on the target for a good second or so after you fire the weapon to get the kill.

The Suppressor is just so bland and uninteresting. I think I just thought of the main issue that I listed above. The fact that most of these weapons were barely in H5 multiplayer just goes to show that they arent well thought out or good for the game play. Or at best just don’t compare to the other weapons placed on the map, like you had said.

I am most excited about the Promethean weapons and hope there are some new additions plus some reworks for the class.
