Oh yes. Halo Wars 2 would definitely need that.
This opens up a lot of possibilities but I’m not trying to think about it too much until Halo 4 is released and we can understand what exactly the Prometheans should be like. I definitely think they should be a playable race in Halo Wars 2 if it happens.

I think it would allow for much more flexibility if the faction were to be called Forerunner, and include the Prometheans within this group as well as numerous Forerunner assets.
Also a Flood faction would be cool too.

No? The Prometheans were the elite warrior caste of the forerunners.
The prometheans were before the forerunners. They created the forerunners to become their successors but the forerunners were found unworthy and a war broke out. Its unclear how, but the forerunners eventually beat the prometheans and decimated them

Promethean is the elite warrior class of the Forerunner.
