Promethean/Covenent Loadout Weapons

In Halo 4, people got to make their loadout with their own weapon combos/special abilities. Armor mods now serve as the “special abilities”, but what about the loadout weapons. Back then, you could have a plasma pistol and a battle rifle as your loadout instead of spawning in a plasma pistol. I’m not saying the void’s tear should be a loadout weapon, but what about the stock, non-variant weapons? The question really is, what if the surpressor, lightrifle, boltshot, storm rifle, carbine, and plasma pistol were all available to use as loadout weapons? What do you think, would this be too unfair, or would it be just fine? I would want to see some new loadout weapons in the game, and these could be it.

Yeah, I really miss being able to choose the load out that you spawn with, bit I think it was reaalllyyyy unfair. It would never happen in ranked because then it might give someone an edge of they are just really good with a certain combo.

I remember always spawning in with a carbine and just wrecking hahaha. Double XP Covey slayer was a nice reminder of that.

I think having loadout Covenant / Forerunner weapons would be too OP for Warzone. I can’t even imagine the excessive Noob Combos going around.

It worked in H4 because the weapons were weaker. In H5 having pretty much any of those weapons (besides maybe the Suppressor) would completely change the dynamic. I imagine there would be a lot of noob combos, and the Magnum and AR would be obsolete, as the Storm Rifle and Lightrifle are pretty gosh dang powerful.

As long as you can only choose the base variants, I wouldn’t mind this at all. The plasma pistol, however, should remain a power weapon.

In Halo 4, weapons like the Carbine and the Lightrifle were designed to be loadout weapons, with similar traits to the BR and DMR. Now they’re designed to work like semi-power weapons, with the Carbine having a pretty high ROF and the Lightrifle being able to kill in 3 shots when zoomed in. Not to mention that the Storm Rifle has gone from a slightly-stronger assault rifle to a close-quarters melting machine.

But I’d still love to see loadouts in Halo 5 as a custom games option, implemented like they were in Reach.

What happened to that Covenant needler rifle in Halo Reach? I would like to see that return…

It did, though in a different form: Blood of Suban (i.e. the Needlebine)

That’s not the same tho. I want the original one to come back or in a new look. Blood of Suban is a Covenat Carbine with steroids …it’s not in the needler family…

although I did like in reach armor abilities, I like far more the fairness of arena matches and the fact it shows that skill triumphs luck… If you want loadouts, this is why we have warzone and warzone assault .

Considering it fires needle shards the same way the Needle Rifle did in Reach, I believe it would be part of the needler family.

I just liked the hole aesthetic of the rifle…

If the there were forerunner and covenant weapons it would take out some op weapons like the blood of suban or razors edge

No way. Some guns are way to powerful to be loadouts weapons and would completely change the game. I’d be fine with loadouts in warzone that only used UNSC weapons.

I think it be pretty cool to make loadout weapons for warzone. However a lot of people can come up with some pretty op combos that can make it unfair. The only thing I can see is that they either balance out the weapon sandbox or make that the loadouts cost certain req level. Like for example aloadout consisting of a BR + a boltshot + a frag can equal to a certain level of 5 req cost. This loadout will always be permanent, you customize whenever you want, but it will cost you to use it.

Yeah, i totally agree with you. The light rifle would replace most of the times the BR and the storm rifle the AR. In addition it would be almost impossible to use veichles in WZ because everyone would run around with unlimited plasma pistols. The carabine and the soppressor would be fine, i don’t find them OP compared with loadouts.

The argument is that it makes gameplay unbalanced and unfair, but I don’t really agree. If you can’t manage to beat someone who starts with a carbine with your Assault rifle, is it really about skill that everyone should start with the same? It seems more to me like taking advantage of people who don’t do well with an assault rifle. It sucks to be the person that’s a crackshot with a DMR but only ever start with an assault rifle and by the time you get to the DMR on the map someone else has already gotten to it first. I don’t think it’s fair or balanced to have people that are amazing at using an assault rifle placed with people who are -Yoink- with it. In Halo 4, I do very well in Slayer because I’ve got the pick of a combo that suits me. Backtrack to 3 or Reach, I utterly suck. Spending half the game running around looking for literally any other weapon while getting shot to death every time isn’t a fun way to play and it’s a reality for a lot of people. It’s why I play Halo 4 more than any other Halo. Not everybody is suited to the default assault rife/magnum combo.

I don’t think it would be unfair. I think this would just be a trade off for human weapons.
