I read in GameInformer that Halo 4 will have a prologue to recount the events of the first 3 games, for newcomers to the series. I’m very interested on how it will be. Post your theories!
I think it will be like Halo Legends-Origins, as a cutscene of Cortana recounting events as she starts to turn rampant.
I believe when you start off the Halo 4 Campaign, your probably going to have a look back from the last 3 Halo games just to recap on what’s going to happen.
I do have couple of things that I look forward to Halo 4. Mainly, I want to know what’s going to happen to Cortana. If you saw Halo 4 Video at E3, Cortana seems to be in a rampant state and the quote “I will not allow you to leave this planet” in a much angry tone. And I also want to know what the “evil ancient” is. Could be the last remaining Forerunner?
I don’t think it will be like Halo legends, if your referring to the animations at least. It will most likely be a CGI recap of Halo 1-3 but only the most important moments. Now that I’m thinking about it, I could picture Cortana recapping the events for us.
Maybe, right before Cortana wakes you, you’re having dreams that are basically the events of the previous Halo games.

That sounds like pretty cool Austin7934! Is it an UNVERIFIED RUMOR? I think it would be a great opportunity for Cortana to call Master Chief/the player-character “John” and make us (me and you) feel special. She could also tell us about the part of Halo 3 when she is rampant, which will set the scene for her turning rampant in Halo 4!
It would be really cool if they use the prologue like they did with Halo Legends when Cortana is telling the story of what happened throughout the Halo universe. I would definitely would love that!
It will likely be a short monologue in the opening cutscene, similar to what Captain Cutter did in the opening cutscene of Halo Wars.
It’s a smart thing to do, but I’d also like to leave out a lot of the action and stuff. This can act as a double edge positive since players will be intrigued to go back and relive the experience. Similarly, Gears of War follows this for each new game.
i dont think it will be cortana if you watch the conan obrian video at one point they watch some gameplay you cant see any of it but it sounds like a prologue if you listen carefully and it sounds like the guy who does all the videos on waypoint like this

Highlighting the key moments is important.
Gonna have to clear it up for the reach noobs
I hope they don’t have too much in the prologue. That way, players that have completed the other games will have a bit of a reward over others.

Would be awesome to see some past events in cgi, or heck, maybe even remade in the game engine.
I would like if they went back further than the games, so like…recounting the beginning of the spartan program.
I hope it’s an in-depth overview of the whole trilogy.

I think it would be great if Cortana would be the one recapping the events. It would seem to make the game better than outside narrator.

There was a clip (that couldn’t be seen on the show, only heard) that was shown to Conan O’Brien a while back, recapping the events of the first 3 games to bring him up to speed. This could be the kind of scene you’re talking about, but I’m not sure if it will be added to the game.
