Project Tatanka needs to be Series S|X & PC exclusive

I would personally have played as many as 100 per console, no matter how long it’d take.

This is probably proof that desync exists for both, as it’s not peer to peer and desync is desync of player location and action you shouldn’t be seeing this if you’re seeing exactly what the server sees, considering it’s stubborn enough to have people run into walls because it dropped an input.

I don’t think infinite is a super graphically demanding game, or should be anyway, to the point where it causes these issues. Do you think 343i didn’t play test it at all on one and such?

I almost wonder if they gave it like a horrible port.

I just know these desync issues aren’t exclusive to One, I’m sure you’d find clips relatively easy of people on Series getting horrid hit reg and desync.

I’d also like to add (although it won’t let me edit) that, I know tons of people on Vanilla Xbox’s and Slims who say the game runs just fine for them connection wise, and I’m willing to bet a fair share of the “desync doesn’t exist” crew on here don’t even play on Series or beefy PCs

Not only do i agree with this, but I think it may be wise to start leaving the Xbox One in the dust. At this point in time a good portion of the players have updated consoles. Continuing to update the game with last-gen in mind will only hinder us.
I honestly think even as soon as Season 4 they just stop updating it for Xbox One

The Xbone can’t even run Infinite at anything more than 30fps. You stack more content and more data on top of that and eventually it’s just going to become unplayable. The Xbone cannot do what the Series X/S can, and that fact alone is enough to warrant leaving the Xbox One behind.

Destiny 1 did the same thing.

Oh I realize that, but that’s absolutely not what I’m asking.

Right now, the Xbox One can run Infinite to an acceptable degree. But that will not always be the case. Disregarding the large technical disadvantage that Xbone players are in when it comes to actual combat in-game seeing things happen at half the frames or less that everyone else is, when 343 develops something to the magnitude that Tatanka is rumored to be, the ceiling that they COULD shoot for gets much lower when you factor in that Xbone will hit it’s limit much sooner than the new gen.

It’s limiting what could be added. A mode that would have more players will now have less because of the older tech needing to run it well enough to compete with everyone else. Any large content additions will be made for the next gen, but will be re-evaluated because of the limitations that the Xbone has. 100 Spartans in one mode is ambitious but possible on a Series X/S. it is downright impossible on the Xbox One, at least without taking a bullet to either the frames, the graphics or both (for example) Whether it’s now or later eventually Infinite will have so much going on in-game that the Xbox One will have to take a seat.

In other words, when 343 is creating new or returning experiences for Infinite and the question of “how awesome can we make this?” comes up, whatever they think of will have to be crippled in some capacity due to the old tech in the crossplay mix. At least in terms of big modes or additions like Tatanka.

We can do okay with the Xbone, we can do more without it.

I agree with games being X/S and PC only going forward. I have an original Xbox One, my sons each had an Xbox One S, I upgraded to Xbox One X too. We’re all on Series X consoles now.

Seeing is believing imo. I have experimented with many games on all the systems. Games run better on the Series X. I imagine there’s more to come too, bigger games with more assets on screen.

I think we’ll see many more X/S and PC only titles in the near future. Can’t wait tbh. I’m not sure Project Tatanka will be one though.

No it does not! It needs to be exclusive to all platforms!

Sure it sounds great when you have that level of disposable income.
But for the market
And the producers
Not so much.

Warzone is on all the consoles, low end pcs and phone for a reason…

Yes, to all of this. I had blanks melees, hit reg problems, desync galore on a one S. I just haven’t played video games in 10 years so I was mesmerized by movement and graphics. Upgraded to a series X and monitor at 120. Night and day, I have issues when my connection is poor is all. It is unplayable especially on a one S

The PC version could do with a lot more optimization. This game can run terribly even on strong PCs. You can’t mess with an ini file to make the game look worse in order to get better graphics.

Edit: One example of this is that texture streaming is always on. You can’t have this game not constantly load stuff from your hard drive while walking around the map because it always wants to get a higher resolution version of the textures that you’re close to. That’s a CPU toll and a hard drive toll done to keep the game looking nice.

I have a very up to date PC right now with a lot of new parts. I can’t play on the map Streets anymore without so much stuttering I look like I just disconnected and reconnected my internet over and over, it used to not be like this it used to be a very solid PC port, and before anyone asks its only Streets, Breaker, and Bazaar all the other maps run fine to great, but I have to ask for how long? How long until Live Fire, Recharge, and others start breaking heavily too? No matter how much want to play this game I just had to accept reality that the PC version is literally degrading before my eyes and I can’t just play it anymore. That and a lot of other problems 343 are consistently having in other aspects of this game I just can’t support this game with my time or storage anymore so I uninstalled. I want to just play at times but I can’t even do that… so see you guys on MCC I guess because at least that game actually works now adays.

Disagree, all platforms should be exclusive to that.

My post was flagged for saying that Infinite should have been canceled and Halo should be put to rest? What?

Clearly it would have be3n flagged eventually @SaviorNight.

In what world is saying a the franchise should be ended constructive or on topic?

This is waypoint not twitter.

I mean it probably will as most people still are on XB1 due to Series X shortage.

Microsoft isn’t Sony, they want their games available on as many platforms as possible
