I don’t know what this new big mode is, but it needs to be not held back by a console that was outdated when it came out nearly ten years ago. It’s not hard to get a series s at the very least anymore.
Infinite itself needs to stop being held back already, let’s start with this big new mode for the crowd that put their money down to play the game in it’s best state.
We don’t know how it runs on the Xbox 1. If it runs like the campaign I don’t see why not, but if it can’t run it, it can’t run it. A lot of my mates haven’t splurged on a Xbox X (And most of them ended up getting the physical copy of MCC so the S is not an option) And while none of them have put it down most of them play MCC more often. And I fear that for them Tantaka being not accessible on their console would be more of a turn-off to the game. Obviously if it can’t run it it can’t run it as I said but if it can run it, even with mediocre quality it should. But we don’t know enough about “Tatanka” to make a ruling.
I’m always so torn on discussions like this. I completely understand that Series X consoles at market value (not scalped) have been hard to come by and old XBOne compatibility was definitely a nice move for a while.
But at some point games need to stop being held back by the original XBOne. If you can make it work then great but I really want to see what the newer consoles can do. My big worry is that Forge might not be as incredible as it could be because it still has to function perfectly well on Last Gen.
I’m pretty sure Infinite isn’t being held back by the 2013 iteration Xbox One. It’s not even optimized to perform well on that platform which suggests the exact opposite of what you’re implying.
X/S can barely utilize it now as it is.
You’re giving the game’s engine more credit than it’s capable of. This isn’t a last-gen-xbox-versus-next-gen-xbox issue, this is a Slipspace engine/development issue. The issue is under the game’s hood (and the development behind the scenes), not last gen hardware that can barely run the title if people choose to play on it.
This is a stretch at best and seeing people latch onto this without any given reason why other than OP suggesting ‘that it just is’ is starting to worry me a little.
Explain to me how Halo Infinite’s problems are attached to the 2013 (last gen) Xbox One
I DO NOT HAVE A SERIES AND I AGREE. HALO SHOULD NOT BE HELD BACK AND IF I CANT PLAY THINGS OH WELL.
just because I can’t play it doesn’t mean my Spartan brothers and sisters don’t deserve better content. And if an outdated console gets in the way, perhaps it should be left out.
well certain aspects are optimized differently and run differently depending on hardware, thats apparent. i really shouldnt have to explain this. im not saying im right but i also am not 343. but if that is a problem, sorry for what i said before, but if it is holding halo back then they need to drop last gen. just like 6 year old graphics cards are getting dropped.
I’m not looking for an explanation on optimization of a title or how optimization works.
I’m looking for an explanation as to how a game that is “playable” by industry standards and “runs” by player standards on last gen hardware is somehow holding back progression of a game that was already built, designed, and optimized to run using newer hardware to its functional specs.
I dunno about the timeframe you suggested, I’m running a 980ti which is 7 years old as of last week.
There are examples of certain titles that have been held back by last Gen hardware, I won’t deny that. However Halo Infinite has been stated to have a 10 year life span, which means it was most likely designed with the X/S in mind, not the Xbox One.
I didnt think id have to explain this but Rambo did it for me, this is the biggest issue people have and alot of players that have the issue are on last gen hardware or older graphics cards.
Newer AAA games should stick to next gen, Halo is a good example of a company trying to keep last gen players by keeping it running on last gen hardware and in return they are getting killed by the issues its causing
Im not buying a -Yoink!- console that doesnt take in discs, no thanks.
Yes, let’s say we paid for the free to play games new big mode, even though its going to be free, and only cosmetics and the campaign are sold, both of which are available to Xbox One users.
There’s lots of games where the devs make a XO version and a X|S version separately. I guess it’s not cost efficient for every game to be like that.
They should treat XO like 360 and just have them on their own servers with respect to online play. Then it’ll truly be a different experience for these “next gen games”. In that way, I respect certain future PS5 exclusives only being on PS5.
i have played on my sons xbox one, and my series x. its really not fine in my opinion lol id rather not play infinite at all than play on an xb1. the movement and everything is meh compared to series x. Im not saying the xb1 is the problem thats not what im saying at all, but compared to a series x i really dont know how people play it on xb1.
my son literally also plays right next to me when we play together and not even one second after i get off to go to work he shuts his xb1 off and gets on my series x. load times, graphics, movement, and everything significantly increases. i have taken my profile and all my settings and switched it to his xb1 and cant even play as well as i do on a series x because of the problems. i do believe i know all of the above. and im not just saying this, i wouldnt bother to type this out if it wasnt true.
Ya i noticed.
It sort of suggests you dont really know what you are talkjng about if im honest.
Scaling isnt the crux of any issues outlined jn tbe op.
