Project Nova script

Here’s the draft for my new and upcoming Halo series. I hate referring to it as a ‘Michinama’ because we’re not with them. We are independent and shall forever stay that way.

The story follows two groups of Spartans. One side, the Spartan II’s (With a few Spartan III’s) and a group of Spartan III’s as they war with each other over political struggles within human society.

Here’s the story line:

August 1st 2499 - Reach is colonized by humans.
May 22nd 2525 - Reach receives word of an extra-terrestrial contact on Harvest.
October 25th, 2529 ONI CASTLE Base is founded after the discovery of an alien artifact of unknown origin.
December 25th, 2531 - After scouring all records stored in the artifact, there are several hints towards a powerful weapon lost within the galaxy. Halsey chooses to withhold this data from any of her superiors.
January 2nd, 2542 - After the tremendous loss of the colony Madrigal, the UNSC splits away from ONI, becoming a seperate government in control of Earth, Mars, Harvest, Tribute and Pluto.
January 5th 2542 - ONI secures the planet of Skopje, bringing the total number of colony’s it controlled to 5: Reach, Skopje, Chi Rho, Circumstance and Sigma Octanus IV.
March 23rd, 2549 - The rivalry between ONI and the UNSC begins to escalate. Groups of extremist strike out at low-level targets.
July, 5th, 2550 - ONI deciphers the artifact under CASTLE Base and discovers Halo.
July 8th, 2550, The UNSC discover Halo and ONI occupation. Fearing that they would use halo against them, the UNSC declare war.
July 9th, 2550 - Spartan teams are dispatched on the surface of Instillation 04. UNSC also dispatch Spartans.
July 25th, 2552 - Reach is attacked by the Covenant, and all ONI-controlled Spartan teams are recalled to combat the Covenant. UNSC follow suit, knowing that between the battle, they may be able to reclaim Reach after both sides are weakened by the Covenant.

EPISODE ONE:

Falcon flies through and around cliffs and buffs. Two passengers aboard, both with blue armour, one Standard Mark V, the other wearing Mark V-B. Pilot speaks.

Commander: So, you’re my new recruits?

Passengers: Yes, sir.

They told me back at command that you guys were the real deal. Rommelwood (Mark V) I heard about your involvement in the liberation of Harvest. O’Neill (Mark V-B) you worked in the Sabre program. Impressive stuff, both of you.

Both: Thank you, sir!

Commander: Now, what made you transfer from ODST to ground-based operations? You could have had a hell of a lot less combat in your career if you didn’t.

Rommelwood: Finished my time in service, and thought that the quit life just isn’t for me.

O’Neill: Just wanted to contribute, I suppose. I guess I just couldn’t sleep at night, knowing there’s a war that needs to be fought and I’m not there. The greater good, in a nutshell.

Commander: Good enough reasons. Now, we are not fighting Covenant here. And we sure as hell aren’t fighting the Insurrection. I’m pretty sure command didn’t tell you anything about Halo.

O’Neill: They were pretty tight-lipped.

Commander: Well, here’s all I know. ONI found this thing after a discovery back on Reach. They came here, and the UNSC fought that they planned to attack them with it, so they declared war.Now here’s what you HAVEN’T been told. We’re losing. Hard. We fought back best we could, but the UNSC have a lot more power behind them, and we’re now confined to a small portion of the ring. Fortunately, it’s the best-protected. The control center. We must, MUST not let the UNSC take over this place.

But to put it simply, we’re fighting for the losing side. Guess it’s your lucky day!

SCENE changes to Red Team.

Sergeant Major: Listen up, Spartans! Our military campaign against ONI has been a phenomenal success! Out of the thousands of square miles of land on this ring, ONI only controls around 25 square kilometers. We are about to lead one final strike. this time, we’ll finally knock them off of their perch, and their little resistance will come crashing down at their peril and at our feet! Now break off into your assigned squads.

Squad! Ten-hut!

Three Spartans line up, all wearing default armour. One red, one Maroon, and one grey.

Sergeant Major: Squad. Orbital satellite imagery has shown us the location of a small base at the foot of ONI-controlled soil. We’re to take this base over and secure a foothold for additional forces. Our surveillance mission should last up to three months, and then we call in the cavalry.

McNab (One of the Spartans): Sir? Why do we need so long to secure the area? Three months to secure a bay, but two weeks to secure half of the Halo?

Sergeant Major: Shut up, McNab. I just follow the commands given.

McNab (mumbles): That wasn’t necessary…

Corporal Ali (Another Spartan): all rednecks act this way.

Sergeant Major: You getting cheeky, you little bit**!?

Ali (sighs): No…

Sergeant Major: No what…?

Ali: No. (Pause) Sir…

Sergeant Major: Alright then. Get in the Falcon. I’ll pilot the thing.

All get in and it takes off.

Sergeant Major: Any more questions, you ask somebody else. I hate talking to you already…

End of episode one.

Soon to be updated with episode two.
