So, we are closing in on the 10th anniversary of this game and I wanted to propose something to celebrate since I doubt 343 will give us something.
Just got out of the shower and I thought about a fairly neat thingy that could be made to honor Reach, and that is to reintroduce Noble into the fiction with a project I’d like to call Project: Noble.
Project Noble would be an ARG/Audio Nobel about a young Historian in his/her quest to dig out more info about the battle of Reach and the involvement of Spartan units during said battle, mainly Noble Team. The group would uncover several different audio and videos about Noble and other Spartan III units (we know of 3 other such teams in Reach) they would also uncover lost material about Noble and ideally we could make it so that Marines/ODSTs who managed to fight alongside Noble join the investigation, otherwise, civilians who saw Noble or the fighting done on Reach (even by the S IIs, but more on that later) would join the gang.
Yes. This is essentially Hunt the Truth but for Reach, but I feel this would be a smaller scale project. The whole idea would be that the protagonist would discover about the other spartans in service (S IIIs) and about the actions of Noble team during the fall. Some things about the members of Noble could also be expanded and revisited by the main cast.
Now, I know that this would essentially be an overly complicated fan-fic project, but we could hopefully add a bit to the headcanon of Halo fans and do some service to Noble given how… Limited our interaction with them was.
Now some things:
-It would be set either during the Created Crisis or shortly beforehand as I feel a lot of info would be leaked/more easily accessible when the UNSC is pushed down. Plus, the lives of people after the Crisis could be explored.
-Story would be set either partially or entirely on a glassed Reach. We have seen that you can at least be on a Glassed Planet with appropriate protection and it makes sense that the Created would not look much at Reach. Maybe even discover some alien presence in the planet hiding from AIs?
-I chose to center the story around Noble Team as we have seen A LOT about the Spartan IIs and I kinda feel that Noble team especially was left a bit in the void lately. I know no new material is needed on them but I also feel this could be an interesting way to explain how the public views Spartans and how our crew could react to knowing about some of the forgotten heroes of the war and realizing Spartans did, in fact, die.
-As briefly touched upon, we could also see a lot about the lives of civilians/ veterans in Halo after the war and when the Created took over.
