Some of you might know what I’m going on about, but for those who don’t, Project: Contingency is a fan-made Halo PC game, built solely in Cryengine 3 and using H3 gameplay mechanics. Sounds good? It gets better. Contingency will support full multiplayer features, and feature elites as well as being free to play (obviously). However as with all good things, there is a catch. Campaign is not planned as far, and as of now they have just achieved their first barely stable alpha, so you can expect a release in a couple years.
Just recently they have released an October update, full of low-poly (yes, low-poly) samples of work they’ve done. Check it out.
This is why I love the Halo Community! They’ll make an entire game for free for other fans to enjoy the universe they love. Not to mention the fan movie that looks amazing (along with various other things like machinima, fan-fic, fan-art, etc;)
I would offer my help on Contingency, but I am no artist in anything that can be worked with on this game. A writer for campaign is a possibility, but I believe I read somewhere that they weren’t making a campaign or just don’t have much plans.
Either way, I cannot wait for this to release! I will download it on my PC not long after it releases, but until then all I can do is wish this team some luck
