Project: Beta

As some of you may be aware, there were a number of changes made to Halo: Reach between its beta and retail builds. Some of those changes included weapon layouts on maps, the names of loadouts, and even the contents of the loadouts themselves.

As I unfortunately missed out on the public beta of Halo: Reach, I’ve never been able to experience what the game was like back then compared to what released. Because of that, I’d like to recreate the beta to the fullest extent the retail version allows.

While there are videos and screenshots which contain some of the information I need, I need further information from you, the players of the beta, regarding potential changes to damage output and other things which can’t really be seen in screenshots. If you have any information at all, please explain it below.

Thank you.

I remember most the BETA being Slayer on the maps Powerhouse and Sword Base, and the Invasion game type on Boneyard. There was also this special limited playlist that definitely got cut from the final game, and that was Slayer or Snipers or something on the Firefight map Overlook and my armor was army fatigue colored in the match. It had huge lag and that’s probably why it got cut out. Unfortunately, I don’t remember any of the differences in gameplay mechanics whatsoever, so I can’t help you there, sorry.

I feel like a war vet trying to recall WW2 events for the History channel. lol

A game on the Firefight map Overlook with generators, it was 4v4 I believe. There is a such gametype but it’s a Firefight variant without A.I.
