Progression

So I’ll start off by saying that I feel like Halo 5 had little to no progression. You just grind for req points and gamble for the object you want. I miss leveling up and unlocking armour to show what you worked so hard for. Now it’s all random! The fact that there is at least 3 VERY similar looking armours for each type of armour doesn’t help trying to get the armour you want opening req packs. I think they should go back to Halo Reaches way of unlocking armour and progressing. What do you guys think?

I’d rather have achievement based armor. Reach was no better when it came to grinding but it wasn’t RNG based at least.

I think I collected almost 75% of my collection progress.

I’m starting to believe that this ‘RNG Grindfest’ reward system is the future of gaming, which is worrying.

I’d rather have a tier by tier levelling system for modes like WZ, for example, you have to grind for the basic versions of weapons/armour and vehicles, then you can select which item to ‘advance’ via XP, say you start with a scorp, you need X amount to get the variations, then another X amount for ONI then another X amount for Hannibal etc the more XP you put into things the more likely you are to get that item, then you can move onto the next item. It would keep the RNG we all know and love but also give the player a bit more choice and chance to what they are rewarded for and can aim for. It was also mean that if you see a player using a ONI Scorp, he must be a high level and has earned his chance to use such vehicle. (Then EMP and steal it  :D)

Even though it was heavily grind based, I miss the armour and reward system of Reach. I personally think it was perfect. I hate all this random unlock crap.

Reach’s unlock system wasn’t really that much better. Achievement/commendation unlock systems are BY FAR the best and should be brought back for Halo 6. It’s a little bit older at this point, but a couple of YouTubers did a podcast not to long ago talking about the unlock system, and what they came up with is the best idea I’ve heard so far. Achievement/commendation for base armor sets, REQ system for weapon skins and armor skins. You need to have the base set to wear the skin.

Preach it to the choir man. I feel the same

The halo 5 armor system is very well

i don’t like RNG grinding either

I’ll have to disagree, in my opinion RNG is not a good way to progress. I don’t like having to grind and then put all of my work into a gamble, only to have a chance of getting the armour I want. In past Halos, seeing someone with the coolest armour showed that they were a skilled player that worked for that, now if you see someone with a cool helmet or something you don’t know if they got it the first day they played in a lucky drop, or after a year playing.

This is an amazing idea that 343 should definitely use for Halo in the future!
