Progression Speed?

Does anyone know the speed of leveling the progression? SR1-SR50? In the post they said that each specialization should take the amount of time as leveling from SR40-SR50, so I know that part already. I just hope it isn’t as long as leveling in Reach. That was slow and painful.

I don’t think anythings being said, but to estimate anything we would need to know roughly how much xp we get per game on average. I’m guessing it would take at least 1 or 2 games to get to SR-2.

reach was painful, it seemed the progression from enlisted to officer took forever. however i dont think the progression in 4 will take that long if they are giving people these specializations around 6 months after the game comes out (which is what i have heard no hard evidence though.) So we will all have to see

From what I have seen, the Matchmaking score (particularly the slayer variants) are based on skill. How many assists, deaths, assassinations, headshots, etc you get in a game. You get points from everything you do basically. So better players (like myself who usually gets around 20-30 kills in a game) rank up faster and get more credits (or Spartan Points or whatever) and players who cannot play rank up slower. I estimate that it will take 1 game for me to get to SR 2. SR 2 might take 1-2 games to get through. All speculation and educated guessing on my part.

At PAX a player got from SR1 to SR4 in one match of Dominion on Exile, around 15/16 kills if memory serves. Was in a youtube vid I saw yesterday.

I assume we’ll get up halfway in a week or two. Grabbing 50 will probably take over a month. This is all speculation, of course, but I’m just making educated guesses based on SR-26 needed to have access to all options and the the fact that specializations exist. We’ll see at launch, I suppose!

i don’t know but i do know that for my first 200 games it will be twice as fast as you. trollface

I’m guessing you have 200 game worth of double xp? With that said, if you do terrible in the games the double xp won’t do much seeing as skill is part of the speed of rank. Better make those first 200 games count!

I’d really like to know if there is a daily/weekly XP cap before I jump in and use up all my double XP matches.

yeah. i’m a decent halo player, halo 4 will be filled with noobs right after release so i’ll probably do great. i wonder if the double xp affects the challenges? nevertheless i love doing challenges to rank up faster, it should be barrels of fun.

good point, lol if there was a cap i would have to stop playing for the day after i hit it so as to not waste my double XP D:

haha yeah. I can see some of the CoD fans coming over to try Halo out now that there are some similarities. They’ll probably be having a lot of trouble seeing as it’s still Halo to the core and they’ll get destroyed
Gonna be fun!

This is why I would like to know of a cap before hand. Since the matches would likely be wasted until I realize I hit the cap. Unless maybe there is a notification afterwards. I’d also like to know what all the double XP applies to. Like forge/spartan ops/war games would be a waste if I went to mess around in forged and used up all my double XP.

i’m hoping i’ll be able to figure it out by the time i finish campaign and spartan ops.

It would be nice if a Dev posted a predicted time frame in which it would take to reach SR50 kinda like they did with Reach. With Reach though it was pretty predictable to the exact day how long it would take because of the daily cap you had.
