Progression should reflect in game performance like MCC

It would be so much better to allow progression to be influenced by how well someone is playing. Awarding medals with xp like in MCC is the best thing I’ve seen for giving the player a sense of accomplishment and a real substantial reward for it increases the drive to progress in the game. It doesn’t just encourage one okay style for a temporary moment like the challenges progression system, it gives every player and every play style a unique reward for their efforts. Please bring this back. A “play any game” challenge to satisfy the requirement for a couple points is the most ineffective and mundane way to give players anything, and there is no sense of accomplishment or drive to do anything in particular. You’ve already created good elements of this in MCC and I thought it would have been noticed for what purpose it served.

In other words. When challenges go from an extra credit reward, to a necessity of progression (even if you get a challenge completed every game, you’re not fixing the problem, you’re still just manipulating people with false accomplishments. A participation award.) it’s taking the joy out of playing towards a goal all together and the joy of challenge completion.
Completing challenges now means nothing because you’re only every completing challenges. It’s meaningless and you cannot sustain a healthy player morale this way.
