Progression Recommendations

When I first saw the community being angry with progression and most especially microtransactions I was the normal 343 -Yoink!- and supported their decisions especially on MTX but after some days thinking about, I agree to an extent and I want to offer some solution to the problem starting with progression.

  1. You Keep what you kill: Earn XP from match performance. Here you take the score a player scores from a match up to a certain point and divide it by 10, to get their battle pass xp for the match. It will also be good to have a minimum score of 50xp per match and a ceiling of 250xp
  2. Perfecting my grind: based on 1 can remove daily challenges and refine weeklies to be about 5 or 6 and have limited swaps(if any) and be more rewarding for completing one (just anything but the shade turret kills)
  3. something Borrowed…from Halo 5 (insert hiss) : halo 5 had weapon progression and every level you went up using a weapon you got a req pack, just swap reqs for XP, from 100-500 as you move from lvl 1 to 5 per weapon. Here you can also add xp gains to playing objective a certain no of times. Example Lvl 1: Capture the flag 5 times, Lv2 sum to total of 15 and it goes on. You could also reset the challenges if you max out every weapon or objective(good luck with Disruptor kills)
  4. **Money on the table: ** Battle pass should give credits towards the next battle pass…so long as the Battlepass is active. This way there is no real pressure to finish the battlepass and new players can catch up but it rewards players that put in the work
  5. Reach into Reach: ranks in Halo Infinite is too basic. Lets get some actual military ranks in there like in Halo reach and could we have and actual chart of what the ranks are. Controversial side note, ranks should also reset every season, just because.
  6. This isn’t battlefield 2042: I need my stats, game played, games won, lifetime accuracy…you know, how much I actually suck
  7. It’s just a Number: battle pass only progression is just dumb because it doesn’t quantify how long you played a game, so lets bring back overall level progression, sure it just a number but 4 years down the line, how is a rando going to know I’ve put in the work without sporting the latest shoulder pads. Its not a show of skill but a show of commitment and it matters

Now we comes to MTX and 343/Microsoft is just trying to eat from the cake that the industry made but just because something is the norm doesn’t mean it should continue, especially $10 for league team skins. As just an alternative, we should try putting the micro back in microtransaction. $1-2 for color change or armor pieces, $2-5 for things like the katanas and stances. I think its viable because Halo Infinite has scale and lower prices encourage impulse buys

that’s it, if i think of anything else I’ll post a comment. end of rambling

side side side note: Can we just have the main tabs i.e PLAY, CUSTOMIZE etc be persistent, its inefficent to back all the way out of any menu just to switch to the next section
