Progression bar is an incentive?

I’ve seen that many people in this forum think a skill-based ranking system shouldn’t be an incentive to play because, in short, it’s childish and we should simply play the game for what it is. Now I’m wondering why aren’t you guys against a progression rank then? It does the same thing a skill-based rank does except that it’s based on experience points. Both are an incentive to play, yet you all seem to be negatively biased on the skill-based system. Why is that?

Because games are meant to be played for fun.

The whole “we play for fun” argument is completely invalid. Why? Because fun is subjective, anyone who says “we play for fun” are completely up their own behind, they think no one else plays for fun. Anyone playing the game plays for fun, fun is subjective, I’m what you call a “competitive” player for the sake of the ludicrous labelling that goes on around here.

So yeah, the progressive system is pretty pointless to me, I see no “fun” in a system that you can get to the end in 2 weeks.

For me, ranking up is part of the fun. I like to see myself get up to a higher rank whether it’s skill-based or progression.

My ‘fun’ is better than your ‘fun’

I’d rather play for my ‘fun’, so yes, playing for ‘fun’ is valid
