Hi All, quick question from me
So i spent a fair bit of time playing Halo MCC round my brothers splitscreen on my gamertag. we got a fair bit done on legendary (halo 2 is a lot harder than i remember!) However, when i logged back into my profile at home, the progress wasnt updated on my game, so I have different chapters done on the same profile on different xboxes. Is there a way of syncing this? I (probably naively) assumed that it would collate…
Matt
No. This is because you have 2 different saved game files on 2 different consoles. Halo Waypoint collates all the data such as kills, achievements etc, but your actual game progress is stored on your save file (if you get what I mean, sorry if I haven’t explained it well). You should be able to transfer your save file to your own console, although I’m not 100% sure on that.
Aren’t all saves uploaded to Microsofts cloud? Which syncs saves when you open any Xbox application? Shouldn’t this only happen if one of the two Xboxes were set to offline mode? As long as they’ve completed a full level it should update on his home Xbox.
yeah this is what im a little confused about. I can see on my way point it has it saved (change it to halo 2 and coop)

but it says 1/11 on my xbox, and 2/11 on my brothers

I don’t think it works that way for things such as campaign progress saves, which are stored on the Xbox console’s hard drive. But I’m not 100% sure since I don’t play Xbox anywhere else but at home.

It should work the way Shrimpy specified. When it compares the cloud save to the local and finds they don’t match, you should be promoted which one you’d like to use. It will show you which one is the more recent copy. You would need to select the one with more progress, it will sync and then you can resume playing. While playing offline can cause this it seems logical that it would be common if you are splitting campaign time across two consoles even if you are always online. I don’t have any real world experience with this myself yet, but this is how MS has explained it.
