So I was playing MCC like yesterday and I spent like 4 hours or so completing challenges but none of my completed challenges would render as completed but the bar would be completely full. I had about 7 season points worth of challenges completed and a lot of exp. I was doing some of the seasonal challenges. I restarted the game and when I got back in all of my challenges had reset and I had like 4 hours of progress done… does anybody know anything I can do to maybe get those season point back or get my progress back?

I haven’t found a solution, I already submitted a ticket about this to support because same thing happened to me yesterday.
The same thing happened to me. Progress bars were full, but I didn’t get the challenge credit. Logged out and back in, and they were reset to my values before I started playing. I doubt you can get the points back, but I’d definitely file a ticket on it. https://aka.ms/HaloSupport
To possibly avoid this, every time I load MCC, I’m signing out and signing back in while I’m in game. This seems to prevent this issue for the time being.
Yeah, they actually managed to break the challenge system even harder, and now it’s even more unpredictable. At least before it was a simple, though annoying task of signing out and back in when launching the game, but now they often just don’t register as complete. In fact, last night I had 3 challenges all register as complete simultaneously 3 or 4 times each, and got 235,000 xp and like 7 or 8 season points, after none of them registering at all for a couple hours. So basically it seems you might get credit for 1 challenge multiple times over, or just not at all.
As far as I know, you CAN complete the challenge on the second attempt, and get the rewards. So I would recommend hard resetting after each game.
Update: it just happened again when I was trying to do the same challenges. I was playing in a campaign playlist and had completed the campaign playlist challenges and it would not give me my rewards so I tried to join a multiplayer match to try and fix it but it would not let me join any online match. I then tried to join a campaign level and the game crashed and my progress was again lost.

That’s sad, man.
I stopped playing because of that.

Yeah man it sucks…
Hey OP. Issues with challenges are known by 343 are the moment, but please do make sure and file a bug report about this on the Halo Support site: https://aka.ms/HaloSupport
