Imagine it like a simple number scale. Let’s throw a couple hypothetical in there:
Halo 4. Okay game at launch, but much improved after some minor tweaks (aka the complete eradication of the infinity slayer model)
Let’s call it a 7 at launch and a 8 at present.
Halo 5. It launched. It didn’t have much of anything to it; lacking extremely basic, fundamental aspects of a modern Halo game like Forge, Infection, Armor Customization, Post-Carnage Reports & Medal counters, et cetera
Think of that as a 3 at launch. Now it’s around a 6.
We now have a lot of the aforementioned, but besides game mechanic changes and Warzone (the Invasion-Firefight-BTB hybrid), not much to see here. Keeping in mind my little number scale idea, some people go “Wow! Halo 5 has improved so much since launch! It’s had so much post-launch content it’s so great!”, while others (like myself, if you couldn’t guess), go "Wow! Halo 5 has improved so much since launch! There’s so much post-launch content, it’s almost as much content as what previous releases have had at release!"
To quote Bojack Horseman: “Don’t look backwards. You’re not going that way.”
B-b-but a map with slightly different colours and some weapon skins is improvement

Eh?
I’ll admit the post combat stats, matchmaking preferences and other changes upcoming in MoR aren’t new for the series… But they’re new for Halo 5.
Think of it like someone getting back into weightlifting form after recovering from an injury.
Regaining lost ground is most certainly progress.
Yes, Halo 5 should have had more stuff at launch, but what is the point of dwelling on that 6 months after?
You’re looking at this quantitatively, as opposed to qualitatively. This is the most balanced Halo game that has ever been made, Warzone is an innovative and orginal game mode. I will admit that the quantity of playlists was lacking at launch, and the campaign is only decent, but this game is easily a 6 at launch, and that is a conservative rating

To make sure it NEVER happens again

It’s not hard to pick two.

I have to agree. If Halo 5 would have had all the content and such that it has now, at launch Halo 5 would have been huge.
It’s a shame that it isn’t because so many stopted playing because of the lack of content and features.
I’m just hoping that they learn until Halo 6, so that they know what is expected at launch from a Halo game.

And yet it’s amazing how much post launch content came from previous games.

Except 6 far better campaigns. CE, 2, 3, 4, ODST,& Reach
100 different new emblems is definitely improvement.
So is adding new armours which are just copies of the previous one, only with a slight paint difference.

Why’d you type balanced twice? Seriously though, which halo is more balanced weapon wise than 5? CE had good weapon balance minus the 3 shot spawning hand cannon, 2-3 had garbage weapon balance because of duel wielding. Reach was a bit closer but had blume and some weapons were still bad, and 4 post turbo update was a bit more tightly packed balance wise but had it’s problems.
im more bothered by the fact that there was such abig hype for the game, which they didnt live up to. and secondly that they hype up the community for the updates and then its a total letdown. poor choice of names, releases, teasers etc…

The CE pistol was balanced. You’re looking at it from min kill times. Realistically you have to take into account ease of use. Not everyone will be able to consistently 3 shot kids. You can see Pros missing their shots. Besides that most weapons except the needler really had a function. There was no clutter.
3 Was actually pretty balanced. There were definitely some weapons like the spiker that weren’t exceptionally useful, but weapons like the plasma rifle, mauler, brute shot, AR, and even the carbine were worth picking up. People like to act like it only revolved around the BR and power weapons but realistically you could find success with a lot of weapons.
5 really needs to tone down the aim assist and bullet mag before trying to mess with everything. The sniper is stupid easy. Right now though the magnum could probably use a slight buff. It is the utility weapon, but just scrapes by in terms of functionality. The auto weapons are too powerful when compared to ease of use.
In terms of balance H5 could be really amazing I think, but CE is still to this day the most balanced.

The autos and every duel wieldable weapon in 3 needed a melee follow up in order to be viable. CE was pretty nice but loading up a game of CE in MCC shows the problems with the pistol. Whether it’s the more accurate thumbsticks or a more “skilled” generation, I’m getting 3 shot and 3-4 shorting people consistently in close range. The only other thing really capable of beating in CQC was a shotgun. At long to mid range yeah it fell off but most 4v4 scenarios were pretty close.
