Profile Picture...Gone?

Just curious. Logged into Halo Waypoint a few times now, only to see my profile picture is not available anymore.

For the record, my profile picture used an old school Halo Waypoint picture, the Halo 2 blue elite. I’ve seen others with old school pictures as well.

Did they remove the option to have our last selected old school pictures? Or is it a glitch on my end somehow?

They haven’t been removed, it looks like something’s pointed at the wrong CDN or something like that. I flagged it to the Waypoint team last week so hopefully it will get fixed soon

Thanks appreciate it. I love my Halo 2 blue elite lol.

I too am experiencing this issue. I logged in just now and bam, my picture is gone. Just my name.

Shucks. This is still an issue huh?

Told by stckrboy to put an image of my deleted avatar here on this thread for the web team. If it’s all the same, I’d like to put up a new one. Got it sized up for the fourms and everything.

I was also told to go here. But anyway.

If I am getting my own choice for avatar. I would like this one to be the one used, I sized it to 190x190 also to suit the Avatar sizes here. (A friend made it for me, and its kinda turned into my avatar on most places on the interwebs now, and it “would” be nice to get it used here)

But if it needs to be the original here you go. This is the exact file.

Yes, if you are affected by this please post the original Waypoint avatar you used here if you have it and I’ll be happy to restore it manually. Unfortunately the original files are gone, apologies for the inconvenience. :frowning:

What size dimensions does the picture need to be in?

I read the other posts, seeing it’s 190 x 190 I made mine that as well.

I uploaded the edited image to one drive.

Here it is. Thank you!

Thanks for confirming!

Here is my original picture as well at 190x190: http://s1372.photobucket.com/user/DecepticonCobra/media/resized_5a05d56fcbd0c_zpssuav2hmg.jpg.html

Heads up that link doesn’t seem to be working.

Thanks for the heads up.

I have the same issue, but only on certain browsers and certain computers. Computers I don’t frequently log into display the old profile pictures, so I think it’s a caching issue.

Here’s some “evidence” that the issue is probably client based.

In any case… here’s my original avatar. I just took it from the link above.

The internet archive stores a copy of the image on its server. So weird situations like that happen if an asset is deleted and it still shows on the internet archive.

They also show up on some computers in my house, but not others. Are you suggesting that maybe those computers are retrieving the images from a cache?

Yes, those images will be stored locally. Clear the cache on those browsers and the images will be gone, as confirmed by KP above

So just curious, any update on our avatar pictures getting restored?

No rush, just want to know if there are any updates.
