Hello, I tried finding a key for Halo 2. I went through that entire list of 2,000 that guy had bought and uploaded for everyone and not a single one worked… is there anymore lists like that? Legal, of course. I don’t want to get in trouble.
The CD keys for Halo 2 no longer work since the game is no longer supported (got this info from an Amazon review by a guy who bought it and contacted Microsoft when it would let him do the same as you). Microsoft are slowly starting to stop supporting games now since Games for Windows Live is being shut down in July 2014. Unless you already had the game installed and registered, I don’t think you can play Halo 2 Vista online with new copies any more.
Wait, so if I went out and bought a new copy of Halo 2. I wouldn’t be able to play it? All I want to do is play offline, and make Machinima. Halo Combat Evolved on PC is good for Machinima, but you can’t play as an elite.

Not 100% sure about playing offline. I think you only need the CD key if you want to play online (I dont own the game so, again, I’m not 100% sure).
Just buy the game and play it.
the key should work, not sure though. reports of people buying the game new has had a few set backs with the key being used etc… But you can always ask support for help…lol
But they key should work imo just buy it and play it. GFWL is going to be killed off in the next year or a few months from now.
343i considers Halo 2 PC legacy Technology/Software and will not touch it update it to keep your game from crashing when someone comes in with invalid characters in their name hacked name.
They’ve never supported the game, well they did at one point to remove the butt picture from the map editor when you ran into an error exporting the maps .-Yoink- file to a workable file structure for the worthless Halo 2 Map editor kit.
We’ve asked to get some kind of help but no one has really replied with hope. shoot we’ve even offered to give the source to the anti-crash to make an update for the game for everyone to download for their game… but to no avail we have been shut out time and time again
