I think it would be a really great idea that instead of having the same power weapons spawn in the maps, that they make it completely random what ends up spawning. Yes it changes the game. However I think this would be good. Some people are good with snipers, others with rockets, others still with shotgun and so forth. As it stands some maps are better for some teams than others. Does that really mean they are that much better? OR does it simply mean that the maps simply give advantage. Both? Maybe, maybe not. So if the weapons spawns are random, I personally think it would level the playing field. It would force players to decide if they should defend the power weapon spawn not knowing what will be next or not. I think it also would allow the players that are good across all or at least most weapons to rise to the top? I personally think the best gameplay happens when the power weapons are used up and everybody is using the same weapons.
I know this idea is too late for H5, but could be implemented in H6.

No I’m not talking about weapon/ordiance drops, I’m talking about currently where the sniper rifle or rocket launcher will spawn on Coliseum for example.

Yeah didn’t H4 do that? The default power weapons were always the same, but you often got different ones as the match went on, especially on btb

I believe you, but I don’t remember that at all. and I played H4 until H5 was released. I could always find the sniper and rocket launcher and saw in the same spots pretty consistently. But I’m referring the small arena not BTB.

But I don’t see that being any different than the enemy team getting both power weapons at the same time which I see happen way too often. But I will same balance would have to be a consideration. Good point. the offsetting weapon pads would have to always have weapons the offset each other. Like the match starts with the sniper and rocket launcher, but the next spawn might be the shotgun and the sword, etc.

I don’t think they usually replaced the regular power weapons, but sometimes. But other weapons would spawn in other spots.

Still, the problem is, (I will be using Team 1 and 2 for this)Team 1 gets a Rocket Launcher, Team 2 gets an Energy Sword, then Team 1 could camp with the Rocket Launcher and kill the person from Team 2 who had the Energy Sword. What I am mostly saying, is it should be balanced, if one team gets a Rocket Launcher, the other gets a SPNKr Rocket Laucnher, or a team gets a Beam Rifle, the other gets a Halo 2 Beam Rifle.

I think tanks should be a weapon spawn in arena, but now seriously I agree with what warden said, but I have been seeing variants in arena, and I do not like it. It seems like random weapons would make that more common.
Here is a balanced description of what I think OP is trying to suggest us:
-Power weapon spawns have different weapons spawning on them, Edens current Rocket Spawn could spawn any high tier power weapon, or lower tier for that matter.
-Location and timer are static, meaning they do not change at all.
-Symmetrical Power Weapon Spawn are symmetrical in what they spawn, if Blue team gets a Sniper then so does Red team.
It would certainly mix things up a little.
I’m not even against random locations and spawn timers as long as the spawn is announced to everyone well ahead in time, that’s me though.

I think a variating map dynamic is a goal of the suggestion.
How exactly does map controll get less important with the suggestion that was posted?
