So many years that the Halo Waypoint website has been and even so they do not fix the written language system, a shame, hopefully they will fix it soon because there are people who write in Spanish, beware it is NOTHING BAD, but it would be something very comfortable for Latin people to be able to write in Spanish without any problem so that your post is deleted just for writing in SPANISH, hopefully for the exit of Halo Infinitie and fix that system, give support to the post if you agree with me, greetings!
Do you mean that there should be an automatic translation system? If it would work it would be fine.
It would be good I think if they took the Spartan Company forum idea and took it further.
If they had some sort of “Waypoint companies” thing, in which you could join and create several companies where you can sort forum threads just like in the public ones.
This way we could make our own sub communities within Waypoint, for example communities from various countries.
Personally I would gather to research and discuss how a Halo game would be balanced if it was fully lore/canon accurate.
I don’t mean that this to be a replacement to your own, but I though it was an a idea that could be related. Would be good is people who don’t speak much english also had a place to communicate.
Yeah they should have a translation system in place if they are only going to allow English. 343 is just preventing more people on the website by adding a restriction like that however they do have good reasons why BUT they should work around it.
343 is an English speaking company and as a result the majority of people here speak English. It isn’t just the Spanish language that is not allowed either I participated in a German speaking thread here (I think) got locked for not being in English.
They are not equipped to provide moderation in other languages. You should message a moderator if you have any questions or concerns like this and they will provide you with an explanation as to why.
If Spanish was allowed, same should apply to every other language in the world. That would be impossible to moderate, because we would have to have at least one moderator prepared to handle any language that might be thrown at us.
Would auto-translation be a good idea? I’m not entirely convinced. It works adequately for getting the gist of some piece of text, but I would be hesitant to rely on my writing to be translated properly. Enabling more people to engage in the community is a noble goal, but I’m concerned that being able to write without knowing how your words are going to read on another person’s screen would lead to problems and more noise on an already noisy forum.

How are you not able to write in Spanish? Is it a matter of typing in English because the majority of Waypoint Users are native-English speakers? Or is it something else? I am curious, because some fellow mentioned an automatic translation which we have with Microsoft Edge. This would translate the language for the reader, so I am not too sure of the problem you are pointing out.

Given your hesitation on auto-translation, if you did not learn English as a second language, what would be a good way for non-English speakers to give their say on Waypoint? I agree that having at least one moderator handle one language would be difficult, how would you approach this?

Unfortunately you would have to translate it yourself or find another site that allows Spanish speaking individuals to have their say

Yes I know man, but look at how many people who play Halo do not speak Spanish. Probably the Latin community is the one that plays Halo the most, so many people must speak Spanish but don’t you think it would be a good implementation? So I know that if they adapt the written language to Spanish they would have to do it with everyone, but they don’t think they could add another tab where if they could write in Spanish a place where by writing in Spanish my post is not deleted and the community can write calmly in Spanish !! It is not necessary to adapt the language, just a forum where if you can write in Spanish without the fear that my post will be deleted, is it too much to ask?

That is how I translated some Spanish posts in the past just copied and pasted them if not edge I used google. Think I was confused by the auto translate comment. I took it meaning being built into waypoint and not edge.
