Players should be able to get demoted if they start to really suck. I don’t want players having a rank when they don’t deserve it and are only on that rank because the system does not allow them to be demoted

I know that Halo is team oriented but it does not make since and probably will piss people off if they for example drop 30 kills but still lose and go down in rank.Based on individual performances, I think the amount that you go down in rank should depend on your performance. If you lose you will still go down but if it wasn’t really your fault and you were giving a good performance, you would just go down a little less. Also if your team wins but you did horrible, you would rank up but not as much as the others that performed well
You haven’t played yet. Stop acting like you know what is going on.
How did you feel about Reach’s competitive ranking when it was released?

Are you dumb or something? The community knows what’s going on because 343 tells us these things. They just released info on the ranks so how do I not know what in talking about…

Reach didn’t have one

Yes it did.
Reach’s Arena started with the seasonal CSR based on individual performances. It didn’t last long due to the small but vocal crowd that was specifically using that system.

> It’s go time. Gone are the traditional rankings of the past online Halo experiences, in are Seasons and Divisions. Do well here and you will be grouped into flights of players featuring the best of the best, at the end of each Season your stats will be carved into your Service Record for all eternity* and subsequently refreshed in anticipation of the new Season to come.
>
> The Arena is a brand new Matchmaking experience incorporated into Halo: Reach, aimed directly at competitive players who value competitive play and bragging rights above all else. Halo: Reach still features a wealth of other Playlist offerings, ranging from social to competitive (and everything in between), but the Arena is all about competition.
>
> Its rules are simple:
> Play three games each day to be rated.
> Get rated on ten days in a Season and you will be placed in a Division amongst your peers.
> At the end of each season, everyone who has placed in a Division will receive a breakdown of their Division placement and their individual performance in each Arena Playlist.
>
> Rating, Explained:
> When the game ends, the players are ranked by their game rating, regardless of team. Contrary to what you may have heard, bigger is better. Of course, being on the winning team improves your rating, but we respect a heroic effort for a losing team too. These rankings are submitted to Xbox LIVE to determine if you should move up or down in Division, so play to maximize your rating by killing them, not dying, and helping your teammates with assists.

You don’t know what you’re talking about, because you haven’t personally experienced how it works. Meaning, wait until it’s out before you complain that something isn’t going to work, because YOU HAVE NO IDEA. Insults will be reported accordingly, thank you.
It sounds like they put all there time and effort into one thing and that it balance. Playing kids at your own level and skill. I find this good and bad. Good because it will make you a better player, bad because sometimes it feels good to go into a lobby and go 30-5 against bad players. We will see.
I know if your getting into the ranks of Diamond/Onyx look out because every player in that lobby is going to be bad -Yoink-. Every game you play your going to have try hards. Idk its good and bad.

It’ll become quickly apparent who’s bad and who’s good in the ranking system. If there’s someone who was carried on your team, they’re more likely to probably try 1v4 because ‘muh MLG proness’ and cost you a game. You play another game and get a replacement who’s actually as skilled as the rest of your teammates, you win that game, your loss will be nothing, you’ll continue to go up while the other player continues to go down. Individual performance can easily be skewed so that’s why it’s nto taken into account, i.e someone on your team is pretty much backpacking the rest of your teammates so it’s not a generally fair and honest review, which is why games based on wins is more important.
Answers to both problems:
-
Season resets are there for this purpose. If they allowed performance to derank a player we would end up with another Halo 3 deranker scenario
-
As far as we know, that may be the case. They even said there were a lot of factors going on behind the scenes that they aren’t going to be revealing.
Just have patience and wait till the game is out. Then we can judge whether or not the system works as intended.
-
So I’m pretty sure its like the beta in the sense that you can be silver 3, and get demoted to silver 1 but never down to bronze. In the beta it showed the same style and I like it. Sometimes you just have bad streaks. Also season resets give some playlists new starts. So you can get demoted from what I can tell.

This is the way all Halos have been. Its all about winning. If you are amazing then play rumble or group up with people good like yourself. But honestly like I just said, all Halos have had the concept of ranking up based on winning, so don’t act like this is just coming up or is just 343i. This has always been the way it is and I like it. Its just like any normal sport or competitive environment, individual performance is nice but overall its all about the final outcome and the whole team’s performance.

After 10 games players will be given roughly the right CSR. Of course some might have been carried a few games and got a higher CSR than they deserved, but they will probably not end up in a higher division than they deserve so they will then lose and rank down within their division. It has also been confirmed that it’s not all win/loss during placement games (probably a lot of proprietary algorithms that they don’t want to make public).

This is a problem in MCC for example, but that is because the ranking system doesn’t work at all. In a working ranking system, which we will assume Halo 5 offers, players that continually drop 30 kills will rank up even though every once in a while they lose anyway. And players who makes their team lose even though another player dropped 30 kills on their team will drop in ranks quickly.
In MCC I can actually continually drop 30 kills and lose game after game since the quitters are in every game along with extremely bad players that never disappear no matter what rank im at. I have actually lost several games in MCC with going positive 30 and that is why I consider MCC one of the worst games Ive ever played but Halo 5 one of the best even though it was only in beta.
The new CSR seems great to me on paper, but none of us are allowed a strong opinion until we actually play it for ourselves OP.
stop worrying and just be excited to try it out.

If you drop 30 kills in a game, but lose - that sucks, yet again, that tells me that you can do that the next game too, and rank up. It’s fair, and it’s a good way to balance things out. If you have ever played league, you would understand the way divisions, leagues and elo works. This is not far from it, by the looks.
I slightly agree bc of my friends I may rank up beyond d my skills between getting slow with age and a damaged right hand I’m not what I was back at the releases of Halo CE and Halo 2.
But its still a good system the issue will be trolls tanking to stay at lower rank. But we will see.
If you keep losing, you won’t lose the overall spot. Meaning, you won’t lose your silver title once you get there, you can’t go back down to bronze.

Ninja Xiq read the ENTIRE thing before you make your decision.
I wasn’t going to say anything till you said you were going to report this guy. Are you that much of a p**** that you handle a fricken insult. Good luck making it through life if your going to go to cry someone calls you dumb or stupid. I mean seriously man up!!! Hell I don’t give a s*** if you report me you fricken p**** at least I can take an insult without fricken crying about it. So if I were you I would stop commenting on people’s post until after you do these to things
- Grow a pair
- Quite being a snitch you fricken p****
now if you have finally grew a pair then shut up or prove you can stand up for yourself on your own!!!(hitting the report button doesn’t count you p****) If you can stand up for yourself I’ll delete this post off here and the pictures of it off Instagram and Twitter.
If your still a fricken p**** then go head report me. I’m not afraid of a coward like you thinking your all bad and cool caz you pressed a button to report someone when really all you did was go cry like a little b***** just caz someone called you stupid.
So if you man up and stand up for yourself without being a snitch then I’ll delete this post off waypoint and the pictures of it off Twitter and Instagram.
