As much as I am grateful to the fact that you updated in January, and I am, I am quite disappointed.
Living Dead Playlist:
I am playing this playlist a lot and am delighted to be seeing new maps to it but do they really have to be the same maps we normally play altered in minor aspects. Ok so you may say that “Bedlam” is drastically different gameplay from “Asylum” but really it is just the same map rehashed. What I ask for is new maps, There are hundreds of amazing custom made Infection maps out there, all you need to do is look for them. I know that can be a lot of hassle so why not make some new ones? Nothing spectacular but something different. Any chance while we are at it that you put in some custom gametypes?
Squad DLC:
When you first said you were bringing back the DLC maps in a playlist I was ecstatic, I have to admit I didn’t frequently play the Premium Playlists but I liked to dabble in them. However once I played a few games I realized that there are no objective gametypes on the playlist at all, I think this is a mistake. I personally do not like the Noble and Defiant maps for their slayer capabilities but for their flag gametypes in general, not to mention the achievement “Don’t Touch That!” which now, to the best of my knowledge is impossible to get. Please change this.
I agree with everything you say. I’m very disapointed there is no objective in the Squad DLC playlist. I was very excited when I saw a DLC playlist and now I dont even want to play the damn thing. The other beef I have is how it was mentioned that All Alone would be easier due to the Defiant map being weighed even more and guess what? Just as I expected I still have yet to see a DLC map AGAIN. Come on 343 get your -Yoink- together here…
It’s like they are expecting the people that like to get achievements to boost just to get an achievement or two, and even that is an eye on impossible, Personally I am annoyed about the Living Dead playlist the most, they had a chance to fully redeem themselves but the just messed it up

This complaint is understandable, but there actually is a good reason why we haven’t gotten brand-new maps yet.
The Halo: Reach graphics engine is extremely weak in split-screen gameplay, which means that 90% of all Forge World maps are literally and completely unplayable in four-player split-screen gameplay. There’s massive frame rate lag, and some maps are also prone to a bizarre lighting glitch, which makes everything flicker and flash like panels on a disco ball. (The glitch is called, appropriately, “discoing”.)
Things are more manageable in two-player split-screen; frame rate lag is less intense, and discoing is harder to trigger. This is why several playlists don’t allow more than two players on the same console to play. Unfortunately, however, Living Dead has no split-screen limit. This means that maps that don’t work in four-player split-screen – which, again, is 90% of all maps – can’t be put in Living Dead. The maps that were added, were added because they’re modified versions of other maps that already support four-way split.
If 343i changes Living Dead to local max 2, then we might see some brand new stuff. For now, though, I think they’re just testing the waters.
I can’t agree with you more. Also, to expand on how much of a fail the Squad DLC playlist is 343i for some reason decided to make it full bloom and not even have TU settings as a gametype option.
Wait what??? 6v6 slayer is fun, but expecting people to play that over and over again on huge maps with no objective is ridiculous. Then on top of that they decide to revert back to the blasphemous bungie designed settings for reach??? WTF?? You just implemented TU into basically all of the playlists bungie had put out which is awesome, and then the one playlist that you create yourselves you don’t even use your own gameplay settings. Not only is this confusing it is extremely frustrating because now if I want my dose of DLC maps I have to play with full bloom… that blows.

It’s all good dawg. Yeah, I’m upset about no objective in squad slayer, but don’t freak out about regular settings. I personally liked that they kept old settings instead of TU for this. I honestly think that the only good quality in TU is nerfed armor lock. Everything else is a step backward in terms of fairer gameplay.
I haven’t got a problem with the remade Infection maps; they are a lot of fun to play on. I do have a problem with the fact that the broken originals were left in the playlist. Hopefully, they’ll be removed shortly.
I agree with you on the Squad DLC playlist. It’s frustrating that 343 has released achievements that are now impossible to get because we can’t get the required map.
Since i am more of a slayer oriented player, i was not disappointed at all that objective wasn’t in Squad DLC (i didn’t even notice until i read up on the forums). Just complain about guys and 343 will add it in. Problem solved, everyone (well mostly everyone) is happy and the drinks are on me. Yes those kind of drinks.
I don’t play much living dead but thank you OP for not raging and actually stating your concerns in a polite manner, we need more posters like you. Map specific achievements are indeed lame >.<. Trying to get the right map AND gametype is just pouring salt on the open wound.

This all day. I have no idea why they keep painting themselves into a corner with map/gametype specific achievements. All it does is reduce their freedom to make alterations.

Yet youth in question has probably already had a few drinks. What? Underage drinking is quite common.
