problems with Matchmaking

I would like to discuss some of the issues with the current state of matchmaking in reach. There needs to be a way to separate players by skill to create equal matches. With no ranking system it creates unfair matches that results in people not enjoying the game and a large amount of quitting. Sense there is such a large amount of quitting and no incentive to play other then to unlock armor there needs to be a much harsher punishment for quitting other then the 10 minute ban which just leads to more people not playing the game. Also in competitive playlists full teams of 4 or whatever the max party is needs to match up with another full party and not a team of randoms to try and create more competitive games. 343 has done a great job so far trying to improve the game with removing bloom, adding bleedthrough and nerfing some of the armor abilities, but the trueskill settings and matchmaking as a whole needs to be re-evaluated.

As with most aspects of Reach Bungie adopted the “quick and easy” approach so search times are low but TrueSkill weighting and competitiveness of matches is very low.

Half of my games at least one teammate quits, often I’m stomping clueless players or being destroyed by international teams on very poor hosts.

You’re just going to have to put up with quitting and the crappy experience Reach provides or play another game, I chose the later and I am much happier playing Halo 3 even with the ridiculous host advantage.
