I already put my feedback on the feedback page, but is anyone having problems loading Spartan Ops?
I try to play it and as soon as it loads it boots me back to the menu.
Same issue here, haven’t found a fix.

Apparently it’s as simple as this: Spartan Ops wasn’t categorized correctly. It relies on content from the “multiplayer” installation, despite being listed for play under the “campaign” installation.
A rather irritating setup, but there you have it. x_x Add Halo 4 multiplayer to your MCC installation and Spartan Ops will be launchable.
I also have a problem with Spartan Ops.
I wanted to play Spartan Ops but i have the UE4 MCC fatal error.
It’s occurs, when i wanted to select a chapter, i click on the episode 1 for example and directly the game crash with this message : “UE 4 MCC has crashed, Fatal Error”.Do you have also this problem ? I’m on PC on Xbox App
I already try to unsitall and reinstall the game but the problem is still there.
If anybody have a solution.

Thanks for the info! I installed both campaign and multiplayer at the same time but after reinstalling multiplayer it worked.

Is there a special way to install the multiplayer content beyond the setting menu? I have been having this issue with Spartan Ops on Xbox and now PC, but both crash me to the Dashboard/Desktop. PC gives me a fatal error message. I have uninstalled and reinstalled MP content on both and still does not fix the issue. I have not had any activity on the ticket I opened about it months ago, apart from they are still looking into it and is it still persisting.

Still not working for me too
Same problem here. OG Xbox One. I select any of the ten episodes, freezes up and boots me to menu.
Last night I was able to load 2-1 and played through it. Then I tried doing a different one and it booted me back to menu again.

Same. I even went so far as to uninstall the Halo 4 add on from Windows directly before reinstalling it via the game. Still nothing. Haven’t reattempted on Xbox yet.

I don’t play halo on Xbox so I’m not sure how the download process works, but on PC (specifically Steam) you have to go to manage my DLC and make sure all of them are installed. then go to settings>gameplay>change installed games and make sure they are all enabled (you will have to download them if they are not installed yet) Then restart your MCC and it should work. I think the reason why Sparten Ops is classified as “multiplayer content” and not “campaign”, despite being under the halo 4 campaign, is because it uses multiplayer assets like your spartan (this is just speculation)
Anyway hope this helps you guys if you were having trouble, have a good day/night!

Hmm. Wonder if there’s something similar on Windows Store purchases.
Update after the last patch :
Still not working for me. It’s becoming very annoying…
Any solution maybe ?
Anybody ?

It’s the same exact thing for me on XBox. Miasion 1-1 will play, but trying to select any other mission and crash. No solution yet, and I’ve reported the issue many times.

Installing the halo 4 multiplayer addon fixed it for me but I’m on computer, specifically steam so I’m not sure if this would help.

I try to reinstall the multiplayer, but still not working
A little update :
I have the game on PC on Xbox App and on Xbox ONE.
I try to play Spartan Ops on my Xbox ONE, and the same problems occurs. When i wanted to select a spartan ops chapter, the game crash and i come back to the interface.
I opened a ticket on Halo Support, but still no solution.
Halo 4 was release since nearly 2 months, it’s becoming very annoying…
And Halo Support has come through!!! For those on Xbox, these are the steps I was sent and they worked perfectly for me:
If you can go back to your Xbox, let’s try to Re-Sync your save data from the Cloud by deleting your Local Saved Data, included also the Reserved Data:
!NOTE: Be sure to make a copy of your maps or upload them to the File Share, this process will delete your local mid-mission progress and maps if they’re not backed up!
- Delete your Local Saved Data, included also the Reserved Data
- Press the Xbox button on your controller - Select My games & apps, Highlight Master Chief Collection and click the menu button on your controller - Select Manage game & add-ons - Scroll down to Saved Data - Delete the 4GB of Reserved Space and the Saved Data - Go offline within the Network Settings of the Console. - Restart your console
- Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide. - Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Power mode & startup. - Select Restart now. - Once your console reboots, keep it offline and launch MCC. The game will say it cannot find save data, ignore/cancel the warning.
- Play Halo 4 to check if you’re able to run the missions. You might need to play the first mission normally, then test by going back and selecting it manually to see if it crashes.
- At this point, the missions should be working. While still in-game, go to your Console Network Settings and reconnect to your internet.
- Close The MCC Completely and boot it up again.
- The Console will ask you if you want to Sync from Cloud save or save locally on the Xbox. Choose “This Xbox” <- This is important.
- Test again in-game for any issue with the missions.
I’m checking into what the process is for PC but I was able to play through 1-1 with no issues and was able to load up a middle chapter of episode 2 with no issues. Hope this helps!

This may seem a stupid question, but does deleting local save data on your Xbox get rid of playlist progress, season progress, player stats and campaign completion. I know achievements are cloud saved, but is everything in-game local. I don’t want to risk losing the stuff I’ve done in the MCC
