Do a hard reset on your console (hold power button until console shuts off, or turn off console and then unplug from power source for 10 sec).
Resetting your router couldn’t hurt, either.
Also, what kind of subscription do you have? Is it like a 14-day trial, or did you actually purchase Xbox Live Gold for at least 1 month?
