There are game and heartbreaking flaws in Forge, most notably the Welding mechanic. The following are the ones I encountered.
If you take an object outside of the playable boundaries, you and the object will be teleported waaay outside the boundaries and will die, leaving the object you held on to there outside the map, just outside selecting range.
While I was welding a Phaeton to a Phantom and a Wraith to a self-made Promethean tank (Aeeta), I only spawned and welded one Phaeton and Wraith. But when I saved my creation and spawned it back in, it spawned two Phaetons and Wraiths. This messes with how my creations I worked so hard on and is ultimately soul-crushing to have this stuff ruined by something so easily fixable by the developers, and not know why this happens other than the result of a bug or glitch you have no control of. This is the worst of them all.
While tinkering with the aforementioned Phaeton and Phantom, if you put the Phaeton in a specific place, when you let go, the Phantom will curve forwards and upwards steadily but fast. This isn’t crushing, it’s more annoying.
While messing with prefabs other people have made and my own, when placed down and set to normal physics, they will erratically spin and cause huge lag. On multiple occasions, this crashed my game. If by chance I manage to stop it, the prefab is hideously mangled and looks nothing like it should be or like it was.
If you spawn a prefab with multiple parts to it and it is spawned with normal physics, the prefab’s many parts will explode and go everywhere, causing lag. If selected, the parts will stop moving and will not return to where they were. This is annoying and makes the prefab worthless as you cannot fix it without dissolving it and making it slightly different, which takes a very long time. Your choice is to remove it or attempt to fix it.
Not a game problem, but I’d like to add sounds and FX to vehicles. I tried welding the Mantis theme, various holograms, and FX onto a Hannibal Mantis but the holograms and such stayed in place while the Mantis could move, regardless of the welding. I’d also like there to be an option to have music play in a customizable distance or even throughout the whole map instead of a small area like it is now.
Whenever I give a map a name like “Raid Base Alpha”, after I play on that map, it returns to the name it had before I named it. This is frustrating since I have to continuously change the name or leave it at “Entombed”. This has been going on for a week now and I am not happy. I haven’t seen many complaints about this glitch, so I’ll give 343 a pass, but I’m still upset that something as small and easy to fix as this hasn’t been messed with.
I will add more once I find them, but please, PLEASE feel free to tell me tips on how to fix these myself or how to prevent them as I have no idea why these glitches are happening. As said before, it’s game-breaking and soul crushing.
