I’ve been playing Halo Wars since it first came out and have spent almost 800 hours of my life on the game. It’s amazing to play and I just can’t stop. Everything from the gameplay, controls, ect.; it made you come back for more. I’m writing this in the hopes that Halo Wars 2 can be like that. I’ll be pointing out problems I’m sure we all have with this.
- You definitely made a mistake putting domination as the only playable mode. I was excited to see how skirmish was going to be like but we all now how that went.
- Another mistake was only allowing teams of two. Playing Halo Wars over the years has definitely made me new friends who I enjoy playing with (especially on 3v3), but I can’t do that with this limit you put on us.
- The tutorial states that there’s a rock, paper, scissors system like on the original, but clearly that’s wrong because infantry annihilates everything.
- There’s only a limited amount of upgrades. I’m not sure if you’re just not releasing the rest with the beta or not, but it’s really an issue.
- Invisible gunfire, leader powers, etc. I had just maxed out my population with wraiths and went to battle my opponent. As soon as I’m about to win, all my wraiths are randomly destroyed. My opponents were captain cutter and atriox, so I’m not sure if it was a mac blast or maybe plasa mines. This is probably one of the main issues everyone faces when playing this.
- Invisible health points. This is also a crucial problem that needs to be fixed.
- Can we please go back to reactors and temples. It was a simple concept to master and didn’t need to be changed. Same with resources needed to build and upgrade. Reactors need to go back to their original function. General upgrades like population increase need to go back to the temple and field armory. The base designs also look a lot better on Halo Wars.
