Hello Spartans
I’ve had Halo 5 since release and played it very frequently, I slowly stopped playing and it was been at least a year since I have played. I decided to redownload Halo 5 Guardians to see how it has changed but from initial start up on the home screen I am greeted with a red pop up screen displaying:
“ATTENTION: Error authorising user with Halo 5: Guardians Services. You will be unable to access online modes.”
And promptly followed by this red pop up displaying:
”PROFILE SYNC ERROR: An error occurred when syncing to your profile. Settings and preferences have been set to default for this session. Changes made during this session will still be saved to your profile”
I have searched around forums and on google but have found no effective way to fix this. This has been a problem for me for around 2 days and I don’t know if it will fix itself automatically or what. Any tips or ways to fix this would be extremely appreciated. Thank you.
Not sure what you’ve tried and what you haven’t, but is there a chance it’s down to your ISP filter?
A fair few people have had issues with Sky Shield in particular blocking access to the sites that Halo 5 needs to communicate with, especially Waypoint.
It might help to check your network settings as well if you haven’t already.

I’ve checked with the bill payer on ISP and there isn’t any web filters or Sky Shield enabled, I’ve previously played Halo 5 on this internet/WIFI and had no problems so I’m confused to why it’s suddenly not working.

I’m not sure if any of these will work, but they might be worth a shot if you haven’t tried them.
- “Try starting the game with no profile signed in then signing in in the game itself” - “If you’re having a profile sync error shut down your Xbox one completely and then unplug the power brick. This will reset the RAM and any data temporarily stored there and this should revive your profile association with Halo 5” - “Sign out of Xbox Live and sign back in” - "Check if your Xbox has any mature content filters active"I can’t find anything more than that I’m afraid, so if those don’t work hopefully another user/343 will have something practicable.
