If you pay any attention to the discord ban appeals, they deny every single one and go as far as making up excuses on why people should not be unbanned. The people that really have this issue are: stckerboy, snickerdoodle and Chimera30. These 3 are the main reason I rarely even want to open up Halo Waypoint because of how over zealous they are with punishment. I for one think 343 industries needs to look into who they hire. Go ahead and call me immature for making this into a forum post and if you feel like it, go ahead and flag this, because at the end of the day you’re only trying to silence the truth.

That’s simply incorrect. Several bans were successfully appealed through that thread and more have done so via other means such as the appeal links that are now pm’d to anyone permabanned from the discord.

No one has to make up an ‘excuse’ as to why someone’s appeal isn’t granted. There isn’t a requirement or mandate for clemency. Actions have consequences and those consequences are wont to stand. Granted appeals are always going to be a small percentage of those asked for. There are exceptions for people that were banned in error, people who’ve shown significant personal growth, or who are otherwise deserving of a second chance at being part of the community. ’

This a pretty common refrain from a lot of people who don’t want to face consequences for their actions. If for example someone decided that posting a link to a song glorifying -Yoink!- on a halo discord with a tag that was a call for violence against a marginilzied group (and another also assoicated with fascism) and was banned for it after having recieved warnings for other violations; denied their own actions, repetively insulted the people whom they were asking for a grant of clemency, demanded proof of their own actions, while repeatedly violating both the instructions for asking for appeal and the rules of the forum they were using to ask for said appeal to be granted I wouldn’t tend to give said person the benefit of the doubt. Whether these actions were out of some misguided attempt to seem ‘edgy’ or have a lark or are based on deeply held sentiments isn’t relevant as regardless those actions are harmful to the community. Halo is supposed to be a warm, welcoming place where you can play a few matches with your friends or have a deep discussion about the lore. It can’t be that place when people are slinging slurs or praising nazis.

I’ve no intention of doing anything besides reminding you that posting about moderation is against the rules of the forum and that continued bad actions don’t cast the best light on you for any future attempt to appeal.
As for hiding the ‘truth’; It seems more that in this case your issues with the staff was that they didn’t grant your appeal. Which to be frank you gave them almost no reason to even consider and seemed content to demonstrate repeatedly that you’re not likely to take advantage of a second chance if it were offered. If you have any desire to ever be a contributing member of this community I’d suggest you take some time and do some introspection.
