Hey guys,
when playing MCC online, I have the following problem almost every second game – sometimes it is in the first game, sometimes in the fourth:
- “Suddenly” blackscreen – at bottom left corner there is written “game begins”
- after a few seconds at bottom left corner “host with best connection will be chosen” (maybe my translation is not accurate)
- then all players leave and game ends
There seems to be no difference what title I play online. I already had Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4-matches with that kind of “getting kicked out”.
Does anyone know a solution for that problem?
Some information:
- I’m connected via LAN
- my NAT is open, opened all ports which are listed here: Xbox Support
- both tests for the network connection from the Xbox One say “everything is fine”
- download is 12MB/s, upload 2MB/s, ping around 30 ms
What I already tried:
- check if I simply disconnected – that is not the case
- deleted system-cache
- reinstalled MCC and my profile and deleted game-data
- called Microsoft for help. They just had standard-suggestions (“Is your NAT open?” etc.). In the end they say my console or my disc could be broken -.-.
- called my ISP and router manufacturer – the checked everything they could check and it seems fine.

You seem to have done much more troubleshooting than most.
Bottom line- it’s most likely the game. Some bug in the mix of thousands of bugs we all have because they haven’t fixed this yet.
you can try connecting the Xbox to the “internet” port on your modem. Unless you have a modem like mine that has integrated wireless so there’s just 4 or 6 ports for whatever.
i would bet you have no issues with other games online though. Which proves that mcc is the culprit.
I don’t own the Xbox One and MCC that long because I know to avoid buying new soft- and hardware, when they are released. So I don’t know whether other games work fine online on the Xbox One but on the 360 everything works fine – every Halo available for the 360 for example.
Furthermore today my problem only occurred once in the first games I played online. Now I played around seven, eight games without any major problem like that. There is no pattern at all.
All in all you might be right with your assumption, the reason is just “bugs”.
Thanks for your suggestion though, but I’m already connected in the “most direct” way. My router combines modem and router.

This has happened to me since I bought the game. Few games may be fine but then you just start getting a blackscreen for a few seconds, goes back to normal. Rinse and repeat. Games broken or something. The only game that doesnt do this is Halo 1 for me. I downloaded the game(and reinstalled) and also bought a hard copy. Didn’t make a difference.
It comes and goes. MCC just isn’t 100% fixed yet. Might not ever be with Halo 5 on the horizon.
