During a Mythic Warzone Firefight, a boss enemy (which must be killed in order to progress to the next round) spawned inside a building. (The boss was a Promethean in a Mantis) Outside of the building, all across the surrounding area, multiple prometheans continued spawning, and instantly killing any players who tried to enter the building and attack the boss. This led to the boss remaining at FULL HEALTH until the timer ended, and we LOST. I’d like to know what the point of a time is in Warzone, or at least why the important enemies spawn in the dumbest places

The importance of the time limit is so not that everyone can beat firefight, it is a skill based game after all and failing to kill the boss is part of that. As for the boss spawning in a building im not sure on that one. On certain maps bosses do spawn within buildings and yes it does make them much harder to kill but its still possible.

Can you give more details? The Map, the round, the type of boss? Every single wave is beatable if you know how to do it, but you won’t get any help without providing more information.
I believe you are referring to the Mantis on Sanctum. As great as WZF is, it was developed as an afterthought. It’s clear there wasn’t a lot of love or planning that went into it, and that’s why we see so many issues like the one you described.
The counterpoint is that Mythic is supposed to be difficult, and that’s something I normally cite when people mention a round being hard. However, stuff like this exists in Heroic as well.
It’s a shame, really. WZF would have been the best FF without a doubt had 343i approached its development slightly differently.

Ik what u mean it’s happened to me multiple times. Your best bet would be to get some sort of Banshee or Wasp (or any flying vehicle) and use the whole in the roof to fly in and out and avoid getting hit. The Mantises themselves r easy to take down the hard part is it being indoors. Typically Tanks or sustained fire from multiple directions would do the trick so instead of a Tank use a flying vehicle.

Destroying the Mantis is question is never ever easy. I’ve killed him in two ways in the past.
- Tank beats everything. If you get a scorpion or wraith at the right angle, you can shoot through the window facing the Temple. - Grinder gravity hammer. This way is dangerous due to the high number of Prometheans inside the building, but it’s effective. Tartarus’ Gavel works too but it won’t stun the mantis as long
Yea I’m so done with firefight. Especially the Mythic type. I played it nonstop for months to get to rank 152 and I’m so glad I got there because I would go insane if I had to play more of that awful game mode. It’-Yoink!- me so hard that I have a hard time playing any type if Firefight anymore because it physically pains me to play the system again. Makes it hard to complete certain Halo MCC challenges… Ouch…

May I suggest a Hannibal wasp in addition to those two great ideas.
Just camp on the edge of the oculus opening and lob those blue globs. If it’s safe from ground enemy’s line of sight that is. It’s been awhile since I’ve played that level.
wish it had more maps

I think your confusing challenge with frustration. Putting a time limit on something or spamming the players with waves of endless adds that you can’t kill with 2 tank shots is not challenging. Having a set amount of lives is better than a time limit every time, also having overpowered unkillable turrets shooting at you from the sky is not challenging, it’s bad game design.

I’m not really sure why you are saying challenging constantly as I didn’t once say it, but to the point of the time limit I’m not saying it’s the best way to do it, but if it was down to number of deaths it could cause just as much frustration, say everyone apart from one person had reached the cap of death count, leaving that one person who just point blank would rather run away the whole time than die, you then need to sit and watch that or take a hit of losing your boost and risking being banned if you quit. As for the regular enemy’s that don’t die to two tanks or the unkillable turrets I agree that it’s bad game design.

Yeah that one can be rough, as well as the 3 warden eternals gametype on that map.
You can hit him by tank or by wraith (the mantis)
You gotta work as a team to not get overwhelmed.
