Hello !
It’s been several weeks that everytime I try to launch a multiplayer game in Halo 5, there is a bug and i receive the message “can’t connect to dedicated server”. Eventually after few attempts it works, but it’s really annoying. Have you an idea on how to solve the problem ? I tried to reinstall the game but it didn’t solve the issue.
Also, when we are 3 friends in a party, we cannot launch social quick play because “there are too many player in the group”. But in the description of social quick play it says “up to 4 players”. Do you know why ?
Thanks a lot !
Quick Play only allows a maximum fireteam of 2, even though it does say up to 4.
As for your other questions, do you experience this with any other games?
Not sure why you get the first error so frequently, but it’s something that does happen from time to time. Only thing to check here would be your internet settings. Basic checks are to make sure your NAT is open and you have a strong connection to your router or modem.
As for your second question, it looks like you’re trying to play Quick Play with a full fireteam. Quick Play is limited to only 2 players. 343i made an error in listing the fireteam limit and hasn’t made that simple fix yet to avoid confusing players for whatever reason.

It’s not a simple fix. That value is hard coded and can’t be updated easily
Thanks for the reply ! So that’s why we couldn’t play in quick play ^^.
Halo 5 is the only game where I have a problem with the server. I checked my NAT, it’s open. And it’s really weird that it occurs only during my 2/3 first attempts to join a game. After that, I have no problem…

Maybe related, but I have 2 friends that will get kicked from their first game they queue for when the map is loading. My solution for them was to boot up a custom game first and then search in matchmaking.
Maybe give that a try.
I will try that, thanks !
