So I have noticed many old armor pieces being re-made by 343i. Like the Air Assault helmet or the EVA helmet. But the thing is, is that nobody likes these new helmets.
Everyone prefers the old Air Assault over the new one. Everyone prefers the old Mark V B (Noble 6’s helmet) than the new Noble 6 helmet, where it hardly looks like Noble 6.
Quit re-making good helmets, we like dirty armor like Halo Reach’s not these clean re-made armor. If it was in past games, don’t try to change it. The thing is, is that most people prefer the old armor. The recon helmet looked badass, but now it looks like a frog thingy mebobber. Like really 343i, we like the new armor you’ve brought to the table (Helioskrill) but we DON’T like these re-makes of almost perfect armor sets.
Also I really wonder why 343i adds in -Yoink- armor NO ONE will like. Really how does the Seeker armor get into the game? Create amazing armor, not armor no one will wear.
Edit : By Everyone I mean the vast majority of people in Halo 5, and almost everyone that I play with. Obviously some people like looking ugly, I accept that. But don’t come here saying how stupid my armor looks when you have a tumor for a helmet.
Recon looked like -Yoink- in Halo: Reach unless you had the accessory on top.
And I am pretty damn happy with the work they do with pre-existing armor, except for Indomitable (pro tip, it is not supposed to be Noble 6’s armor, but an armor based on Naomi’s which in turn is based on the Mjolnir Mark V ) and Mark V alpha instead of using the Mark V we had in Halo 4 and CE:A But yeah, the new armor sucks. But again, I do not agree with you, it’s not because of them being incredibly clean and shiny (which has been like so since CE, 2, 3, and 4; the only game that went for the “edgy”, “gritty”, “kewl” armor was Reach, and it was, in my opinion, a HORRIBLE game and had horrible armors as well). Problem is with the design of the new armors, period.

Don’t count me as “Everyone”, as I like the new Air Assault and EVA helmet, but I absolutly HATE Helioskrill. That helmet does not look good at all. I for one accually liked the armor of Halo 4, with some exeptions (Fotus and venator to name some). But please don’t count me as “Everyone”.
Instead of giving us a ton of armor ranging from good to okay to bad, they could give us just good to okay armor and give us full armor customization. 343 have made a ton of good armors and remakes. I think of all the MoR and campaign armors were awesome, as well as enforcer, scout, helioskrill, recruit, warrior, fotus, venator, etc. I think they could just remove the bad armors like seeker, tracer, legionnaire, etc. and give us full armor customization.
I agree with the OP completely. I wish 343i would just stick to the old visual style with the armours, instead of always trying to put their own spin on things. You know what happens when they take something perfect and try to “make it better”? We get abominations like the Mark V Alpha. I can appreciate 343i’s efforts to make things their own, but they definitely aren’t very good at it with the armours.
The Memories of Reach armours were a fantastic example of what we should have in terms of armour. I’m sure that most people don’t use Wrath because "Ermagerd I want to be Emile!!“1!11one!11”, but actually use it because it’s one of the few good looking armours in the game. Yes, looks are subjective, and people can like a variety of things. But the popularity of these MoR armours clearly show that people do prefer the old style, militaristic armours over power rangers.

Thats your opinion. I switch helmets nearly every day just because i can. When i responded i was wearing Warrior. Youre wearing helioskrill, which in my opinion is very close in rank to seeker and tracer.

Whether or not you like your armor, you should go to the doctors. It looks like you might have a tumor.
I think the problem with post-Reach armor in general is that it’s all too “busy”. It may have been more cumbersome to move in the gen 1 armor, but at least the design choices looked practical. Much of the gen 2 armor is riddled with details that do nothing but make it appear more complex.
