I am having a problem earning credits on my profile. i figured out it was just my profile because i played on my brothers while he played on mine and he still only earned 50 credits, while i earned about 550. does anyone have any idea what it could be? i really want to buy an eva helmet!!
I’m having the same problem. It only started for me when I went online and then back offline. I live in the country so the only time I can get online is when I take my box to a friends house. I’ve been trying to figure out why but so far I haven’t heard back from anyone on the bungie.net forums.
There’s a “CREDITS FAQ” section in the Halo: Reach Support FAQ (Credits, Challenges, Commendations, Achievements). Check to see if your specific situation is addressed there, and please let me know if you need further assistance.

If that is the case than that is very unfortunate and frustrating. I went online in the 3 day free Gold Membership (see link below) period that they had last weekend, but other than that I don’t have xbox live or even internet access. So if that is case, I am screwed as far as earning credit. Just becuase I tried out the free promo…?.?.?

Oh yeah that would have definately messed people up… man that sucks… sorry guys! I do however think it’s BS that playing an offline game like firefight for approx 2 hours only gives about 100 CR i mean honestly that is rediculous!
i see everyone is complaining about this problem. does anyone know how to fix this problem. bungi can you inlighten us on how to do so?
As far as I can tell there definitely is a discrepancy for earning credits online and offline as well as matchmaking and custom.
Custom games will only give you 50 Cr. Matchmaking has the bigger payoff.
But I did hear that the credits earning system is different for offline players but those credits are reduced once you go online. Possibly armour you have unlocked with those credits is removed too.
I’ve been having this same problem. I started Halo Reach hooked up to Live and I haven’t been able to earn ANY performance credits. I only ever get completion credits (+50) and commedations online or offline. I’ve yet to figure out how to fix this problem and no one seems to have any answers. I also tried another profile on my box and everything worked fine, but there doesn’t seem to be any way for this to be undone. My profile is gold.
Yeah I was gaining like 7 credits each kill, and now I’m getting like 2.
Wow that’s really unfortunate. Offline accounts do generate credits faster to account for the fact that Matchmaking isn’t an option. Which I’d assume is why they implemented the drop in earnings for taking an account that was LIVE enabled offline. Otherwise people could just go offline and generate scads of creds then come back online.
I’d think the proper way would to be to have some type of timer. Say an account was offline for X amount of time the credit rate would go back up. Go back online the rate drops again and the timer would reset to 0 until you are offline long enough again. Sadly I don’t think something like that nature could be added at this point with out causing other issues. But I am no engineer. So make sure to post this on Bungie.net and hope that not only is there enough call for the issue but it can actually be patched.

Has there been an answer to this issue yet? I haven’t played in nearly a year and after my first game back I earned a huge cR total. Now the most I get is +50 cR. I have a slow internet connection so I don’t play online… What’s the deal?
