Im brand new to the game and am using the tutorial. It tells me to hold down left and right mouse buttons to charge the shot but it never charges. mkay. anyone else having this issue? Im using a laptop if that makes a difference.
I might be wrong, but I recall only having to hold the left mouse button down to charge the Plasma Pistol.
Constantly clicking the left mouse button should also fire single shots rather than a charge.
Holding down the left just sends a constant shot. There is no charge. Unless im just not seeing it, but how do you miss something like that lmao.

My mistake, been a while since I’ve played the PC version.
Quick question - are you using a Laptop touchpad or do you have an actual mouse connected?
and holding down the right does absolutely nothing. is there a charge bar that should pop up? sorry im not pc savvy. I usually just use the xbox.

Ah, that’s probably the issue then. Some laptops (mine included) don’t allow for two buttons to be held in at once, hence the Plasma Pistol not charging.
Your best bet is to get an USB Mouse and connect it to your laptop and play.
It actually does let both buttons be pushed at the same time.

Likely, but it will only keep one click going for a longer period of time. You’ll be able to click both at the same time to simulate a middle click and open a link in a new tab, but in a game that requires you to hold in constantly?

Charging a plasma pistol really is not that easy to figure out in Halo: Spartan Assault.
As far as I recall it, you have to press the left (normal “fire” mouse button) first and hold it, and then a bit later press the right mouse button and hold it as well. Your plasma pistol should charge now.
An easy way to do it for the first time: Just hold the left mouse button while using the plasma pistol to fire a constant stream of single shots. Now press and hold the right mouse button and the stream of single shots should stop immediately, while the plasma pistol starts to charge.

This is why the game features a tutorial. 
To fire a charged shot with the Plasma Pistol, simply hold down both mouse buttons at the same time. No delay or anything necessary. Once you hear the sound and see the glow, release both mouse buttons to fire the shot.
If you’re still having problems, I would try with an external mouse to see if that helps. You can temporarily borrow one from a desktop computer when no one’s looking.
