Probably the Precursors

With so many hints in recent works of the Universe, more specifically, Primordium, it seems that the Precursors are going to be the Ancient Evil. What do you think, most likely or no?

I don’t know. Since we’re apparently not fighting the Flood in Halo 4, I doubt we’ll see any Precursors.

Maybe near the end, we’ll see both.

Everyone has dumped that idea because 343i has hinted at it being something that no one clearly knows but still an ancient evil.

It wouldn’t make sense if it wasn’t the Precursors or Forunners.
I don’t think there is anything ancient that we’ve never seen other than those two.

Well we can drop the whole idea about “The Caveat.”

That was the biggest fail I’ve ever seen on these forums.

What? The precursors make alot of sense. They said they would return in 100,000 (2552) years to judge humanities upholding of the mantle. I dont see how there could be more of a direct hint.

But apparently. We will fight the forunners, or at least the master builder and a break of from the forunners.

Dont shield worlds house many different species of races, we could be fighting a host of new enemies. Why limit ourselves to just forerunner and precursors.

Because signs point to one of the two.

Actually, Greg Bear wrote “a hundred thousand centuries”, which is 10,000,000 but people assume that was a typo.

Well unless we run into the Didact he killed the Premordium by advancing time i wonder if he can make time go faster as well so we don’t wait as long.

also GI said the enemy would have its own unique ranks different from the ranks of UNSC and Covenant.

I thought that they all died?
Though I have not read any Greg Bear novels OR Glasslands…

Shield world are contained inside of a slipspace bubble, time doesnt have meaning there. Right?

That would be Exceptionally interesting and cool. =)
It wouldn’t surprise me much, because Lots of Halo fans I know have Never Heard of the Precursors. I think it’s definitely a possibility. =)

In my own opinion I do believe the Flood will be returning…

I don’t know what to think.

But I hope the fans that don’t read the books (last book I read was Ghosts of Onyx, considering Glasslands) aren’t blindsided here, like “Whoa, where’d this come from.”

The core story needs to be kept in the games. I don’t want to have to read the Forerunner saga to understand Halo 4 completely. It sounds like those books are majorly confusing, and you need a VERY vivid imagination to enjoy them.

Frankie says we are going to get a fair amount of backstory explaining our current situation.

Game informer said there is a 5 minute Prologue.

It can be a WHOLE new kind of alien, different from Forerunners,Precursors and the Flood.

Maybe in Halo 4 this new enemy will have a story that (somehow) fits with the first trilogy.

The point is that we really don’t know, don’t even spend too much time asking yourself.

I bet they’ll reveal it at E3 2012.

This should be the prologue.
