Probably a dumb question...

Do you think if you purchase halo infinite it will be added to your master chief collection? I know that would be hard to do technically and logistically and all but I don’t want to have to juggle between two games logging in and out to play them.
Halo MCC and various remastered trilogies have spoiled me I guess

That’s a good question. If you purchase the game, it won’t be ported to the MCC. In fact I don’t think they have plans on bringing Infinite to MCC since it is supposed to be the current halo platform for the foreseeable 10 years.

That’s always been my issue with gaming. Having to close one game just to play another. Just first world problems I guess

That would be interesting and would be pretty cool. I wish for example that Call of Duty would have done that so that Warzone and Black Ops are in the same launcher on console rather than them being separate. However I think 343 wants Infinite to become the MCC for all new releases of Halo and leave MCC as the classic launcher for all past Halos minus Halo 5.

At least now we don’t have to pull out the cartridge and blow on it.

Lmao those were the days …

MCC User interface is dated. slow and clunky. Adding another game to it, most likely a huge game as well, will just make MCC even slower.

Haha, there is no dumb questions, just dumb responses. And no, it will not be added to mcc.

I like the idea but it seems like a lot of work, with great potential for technical issues, so I think it’s the right call to let Infinite be its own thing carrying halo into the next gen.

I hear you though, MCC has spoiled me as well and I always feel so burdened having to take the extra minute or two to switch games even though it is so trivial to what we had to do even just a decade or so ago.

Haha, so true!

When MCC first came out, it was simply a way for H2A and the other Chief focused games to have a home on one console.
Infinite was likely well into development by the time they added Reach and ODST, and I honestly believe that the way 343 have been updating MCC over that past year and a half is actually one big beta test for Infinite.
It makes sense for them to not release a new platform every 2-3 years and split up the playerbase. And all the new content they’ve been adding and the season related stuff is all to see how we react to that sort of system in Halo games (but also to tide us over after the delay).
So yeah, Infinite won’t be added to MCC, but instead become essentially MCC 2.0 for the next 10 years of Halo games.

I wish they would do that. I would love to have all halo games in one place. I keep going back to all the games in the MCC.

Alternatively, they could add the MCC Halo games to Halo Infinite

It definitely wont, at least not for a long long time but im sure there will be some kind of connection between the two, maybe you can launch the mp of infinite from the mcc

Give me under a minute and I could challenge that theory lol

With all the love and respect in the world, your thread title answers your question.

MCC is for 360 and prior Halo games, and it’s already got 6 in there, and the install size is huge.

There’s no reason (and probably not even possible) to add it to that collection.

This is also why I don’t think H5 should go into MCC, but I digress.

Nah they won’t merge. Luckily the series x/s have a quick resume feature so you can go between the two without the booting up sequence every time.

I severely doubt Infinite will be apart of the MCC. It will probably be its own game and might be like Halo 5, where it is too large to join MCC anyway.
