Pro players fed up

This is a big yikes for 343i publicly. Imagine if 343i actually came out and communicated with their community instead of hiding. What a concept.

That roadmap and store front had me laughing. The Justin Timberlake concert event was a good one.

Just think if that Forge store front is actually true. They’ll pretty much give you a blank canvas and make you buy items for forge.

you think they wont? given the major amount of customization limitations and overly monetized systems… i would not at all be surprised if 343 are THAT greedy to monetize forge. like sims 4 levels of monetization. 10 packs, each 10 bucks, but each pack only has a small amount of things. and the base forge has such a TINY amount of stuff that you’re proactically handicapping yourself if you don’t by the packs for forge

Well, then that would be the last nail in the coffin for Halo and 343i.

Maybe that’s a part of the delay. They planned on monetizing forge and thought twice about it. I know forge is a ways out still but the decision to monetize it or not has impacts on other parts of the roadmap.

I’m going to wait to see what happens, but if it is I will uninstall the game.

Not really much you can do but wait and see I guess…

I’m a long time player from early H2 days and just cant play inf online.
-The rank system is not fair for people who play obj and is too punishing for losses. (I like the 0-50 skill)
-No player profile badge/ability to show rank, pre/post lobbies/post stats/overall stats
-Too many cheaters/no report button
-lag/dsync (my laptop experience)
-lobby system/ui/broken customs/limited ranked playlists

Monetised forge items will definitely happen, guaranteed. Hell, forge itself is probably a paid add on!

Ive been playing halo since CE,
As far as im concerned couldnt care what “pro” players think as half the time they moan and cause various issues with the game.

Ive seen a fair amount of post about cheaters so definitely needs a report button even tho i dont think ive seen any cheaters yet, but have been called one via an xbox messege.

The game will get more maps as time comes, its no different than other halos which launched with the same ish amount of maps.

But missing forge and coop is a big blow to the community,

The also need a custom server browser.

As for issue’s im getting de’sync issues, and since the lastest update i find the game connection (pings) worse)
Also we need more weapons as some are fairly useless in alot of situations, id love for some older games weapons.

And gamemodes id love invasion, best game mode imo.

One thing they need to do tho above all is keep the community updated!

I mean, not that I’m not also tired with 343’s lack of communication, and a lack of in game content (particularly for the campaign,) but I really don’t think that 343 should cater to Esports players.

I think that catering to long time fans and casual players is much more important than catering to people who are enjoying their 15 minutes of fame. I really think that making a good campaign, and a good universe are much more important than making a game perfectly balanced for esports.

Agreed. Its way too punishing for losses. I can frag out all I want, but if I find myself on the losing team I will always get dinged. In a way that always makes sure I play the objective and play to win.
It also bites extra hard when teamates quit or crash so that’s almost always a guaranteed loss. It can be pretty demoralizing.

They don’t. They cater to their profit and that’s it.

Who does Halo have as influencers? Just the pros who stream, right? I can only speak for PUBG because I was involved with that but PUBG had/has tons of influencers outside of their pro player base and guess what? PUBG listened to them. Wacky Jackie was a big help to PUBG, and still is. PUBG themselves were very active on their forums, and they listened and communicated to their community. Didn’t 343i say they hired people who hated Halo? I’m pretty sure I watched a video where they mentioned that. You don’t think that’s a problem? Or part of? When you hate something, you put no passion into it. I think it’s pretty clear with the lack of communication and transparency they have no passion.

Well I have to admit, I don’t think 343 or any company for that matter, should take what pro players are saying as gospel but they definitely should take notice as these are people that have invested mass amounts of time into your game. I would say this even if it’s not pro players and it’s just people that play your game a lot say like back in the day before they had an esports scene.

The one thing that I keep seeing people say, well actually there’s a bunch lol But one of the main things is lack of content and they hate the ranking system. Well as far as content goes, that will come in time. I agree they should At least try to give a roadmap of when maybe some new maps will be coming out, playlist etc and if it doesn’t work out or gets delayed well then you delay them but say why. Or maybe if they were going to release five new maps they cut that back to three or even two just to get it going. Heck you could even do one every few weeks for a while if you had to. So the content part is frustrating but it will come.

Now, as far as the ranking system goes, as far as I’m concerned this all started because people want to be ranked individually in a TEAM game (minus FFA of course) I have for the life of me never understood this! You’re playing a team game. All that matters is the win but I digress here.

Now, this could all be solved in my opinion, if we just go back to when you win go up, you lose you go down. Everyone goes up or down the same amount and that’s that. I don’t see a problem in this set up at all BUT I know some people want more than that so I have a solution :slightly_smiling_face:

I have been in many discussions, especially during the Halo 5 days with Josh Menke and other community members about the ranking system. To me the solution is extremely simple. You have two ranks. First, You go back to a Halo 3 style of you have a rank in every playlist that is based purely on wins and losses and THAT’S IT!

THEN, you have another rank that is your individual rank overall that is based on KDA in all ranked playlists… or you could even make it for every ranked playlist but that would be more involved. Josh Menke didn’t disagree with me when we had discussions about it that it might be the best type of system as a happy medium.

Now I know people are already screaming at this saying what about objective play. From my discussions for many years during Halo 5 days, I’ve been told many times by Josh Menke that the problem with objective play is that it’s hard to measure. In other words they would have to come up with a system of something like every flag cap is worth so much, every defending the flag is so much, holding the oddball for so long is so much and so forth. It’s just really difficult to measure.

So because of that any stats that you do in objective gameplay I think should not go towards your individual rank. Of course your medals count and the stats could still be saved for that playlist and shown In your service record (If we ever get one ) Just nothing goes towards your individual rank. Objective game types that are ranked would only be win/loss like how it was in Halo 3.

So for example, using the current system a player could be a diamond 3 In Ranked team Slayer but have an individual rank of a diamond 5 overall. So it would be possible for you to lose a match and go up in your individual rank if you perform well but you would still go down in rank for the playlist because that rank is purely based off wins and losses remember. Pretty simple, something for everyone.

I’ve been playing since CE and I’ve been playing online since late into Halo 2’s life. People need to realize that there is no perfect solution. Their just isn’t. There’s always going to be something, so in my opinion the system should be keep as simplistic as possible. Make a system that people can understand AND that’s rewarding!! under my system there is none of this "Well I did better than so-and-so on my team stat wise, why did they go up more than me? Or “I’m last on the team in kills, BUT I did the most damage, I had 20 assists I had the least amount of deaths… Yet according to the game I was the worst on the team because I went up the least…” That type of stuff is the WORST!! It leaves players confused, frustrated, and overall feeling like they’re not part of the team in some situations. The system I propose gets rid of all that nonsense.

Apologies for the long post and thanks for the read.

It’s been 3404 days since the release of Halo 4. Your time has ran out!

Same. I’m old af man.

The point is not caring about what pro players say, but more so that they have a much larger following and are in the spotlight. Therefore, whatever they say ends up helping or hurting the public image of the game more than if the same was said by some joe schmoe like me and you.

“Pro player fed up”

It’s self-preservation. They know that when the player-base starts tanking so do their followers and viewers.

Is that supposed to be a bad thing? I think we all want this game to do well.

Part of the problem is that 343 was chasing ESports eyeballs, and that was the only thing that seemed tonbe going “OK” for Infinite. Yes there were embarrassing bugs and disconnects, but the viewership wasn’t too shabby.

Halo Infinite doesn’t have much else going for it at the moment, so this might be 343’s “come to Jesus” event.

No. Just making an observation that also serves to indicate just how poorly things currently are with Halo Infinite.
