"Private Storage Full"

I’m sorry…what year is this again? Because I thought we were at least in the 2020s by now. We have a lot more memory than we did in 2007-2010. I thought they got rid of this. There’s no excuse to still have it.

Nope 50 file limit prz understand.

Ooh its been a while since this came up.
Here’s two things everyone should know on the subject:

1: On the PC version, you can manually drop more map/game files into the folder. They show up just fine in MCC.

2: Map and game files are pretty small. You could triple the storage with an extra 250 mb.

I’m aware of the drag and drop method. It’s still a royal pain.

Oh, no, that’s not my point.

The point is that you can do it and it doesn’t really break anything, which means that the limit is artificial, and should be relatively easy to expand.

Now if they wanted to be extra awesome, I’d love to see some sort/filter options in those menus (the Y button on that screen is unassigned)

Honestly we should all politely ask the MCC team to increase private file storage, MCC is being updated throughout 2022 so we should have a chance at getting the cap to increase.

It stinks. You can have up to 50 gametypes and 50 forge maps but it’s easy to have more. The only downside is that 1000+ stuff takes a while to scroll through and the sorting stinks unless you manually organize it. PageUp and PageDown let you scroll extra fast.

If you’re on PC you can bypass the limit in two ways. The first way is to put files where “built-in” stuff goes which will come before private files and won’t interfere with the 50 limit. The other way is to put more than 50 files where private files are stored.

Also for anyone who doesn’t know, the file share works for PC players now! You can upload stuff to it.

Here’s some further reading. Make sure to click through twice to the other Steam threads.

Already got the map packs, thanks. But I like to create my own and would rather not have to drag and drop files when the arbitrary limit is reached.

Suggestion:

Can you just copy you map files to another folder or drive?

yup. you can if you want to.

On PC, yes, but 1) its clunky and kind of a pain 2) Xbox players can’t do that. Which kind of stinks

Do you own MCC on Steam or the Windows Store?

On Steam you can just save the forge map and gametype files where the built-in ones are. (That’s why I said to click through to the other two Steam forum threads. The README file I copy&pasted has instructions on how to do that.) On the Windows Store… You might need to figure out how to break into the folders inside of .UWP apps.
