So we have a forum for everyone and a private Spartan company forum.

That would be really sweet if there was a private invite only forum? Monitors could still monitor it, but it seems like the rules could be more flexible in that kind of setting. Anyone think that would be cool?

What reason would we need an invite only forum? Who would get an invite and how would eligibility for invitations be set? The best discussions are ones that are open for all to contribute and share, not locked away.

I understand what you’re saying, but what if someone you know personally, or you just run into someone that you want to talk to, wouldn’t it be great to make a private chat thread? Like I said, monitors could still patrol it, so it wouldn’t be “locked away.” And you’d just click on private chat thread then insert the names of gamer tags you want part of it. And the invite will be sent to their inbox. They can decline or accept. Very simple.

I’m just not seeing how this could benefit Waypoint at all, except for giving moderators more work in having to monitor all these private areas. There are better tools out there like Skype, Discord or IRC that would better suit something like this. Alternatively Spartan Companies are a semi-solution or send a PM to that user - I believe you can message multiple users

Yes, you can, but I haven’t found a way for ALL the people you send the message to reply back to EVERYONE. It only goes to you. If that could be updated I’d be happy.

Ehhh… maybe not. As nice as a private chat thread would be, I think we’re fine without it. Now to patiently wait for the next iteration of the Break Room to arrive.

But it could also mean that the recruits would get a lot of crap for it. I don’t want any bullying going on with this idea.

It sounds good until you realise that everyone would just spam to make the required rank. Anything that’s based on post count is almost inherently bad
