For those of you who have read, “HALO Primordium” is it worth to read?
Yes it is. The first part of the book is considered slow by many because it involves a lot of walking around a Halo Ring but the events that unfold near the end of the book more than make up for it.
It is worth it, like Shadow says it starts off slow but picks up pretty quickly, the beginning has a lot of meaning later on in the book as well.
Yes Sir you must get it
There is a guy on youtube who has the audiobooks for
Cryptum
Primordium
Glasslands
Ghost of Onyx
Yes, very, very good book. Liked Cryptum more, but that’s just me. Still a really interesting story!
Just finished it myself (picked it up in Waterstones for half price) and it’s good, but as others have said Cryptum is the better book.
Though that may be because Primordium is a bit slow to start, it’s still a good read.
Absolutely.
A lot of people criticise the early parts of the book, as has been pointed out, for being “too slow” and having “too much walking”, but they seem to have totally skimmed over how well this is used to develop the characters’ perception of the Halo universe at this particular time which is what the narrative of the Forerunner Saga is all about - perspective.
We are seeing the unfamiliar regions of the Halo universe through the eyes of imperfect narrators like Bornstellar and Chakas, not from an omnipotent third-person perspective where you’re just spoon-fed the facts. Primordium makes you think, that’s what Bear’s sci-fi is designed to do.
So definitely get it - it’s worth buying solely for the value it holds in canonical information, but I feel the whole story is excellent with some great moments too.
