“In a hundred and one thousand centuries … unity again, and wisdom. Until then -sweetness.”
How much is 101,000 centuries? 10,100,000 years? 10,000,000 years? 101,000 years. The former would be the span of time between the Forerunner-Precursor war to present day Halo give or take and the latter would roughly the amount of time between the Halo Array firng and present day Halo.
If my math is right. The Primordial is giving us a foreshadowing of events to come in present day Halo. Remember it’s a Precursor and as the Gravemind nearly omniscient. Also it’s mentioned the Librarian was able to concoct millenia long spanning plans and seeing them fulfilled due to her understanding of living Time allowing her a degree of foresight. If she can do that imagine what the Precursors could do given how far beyond the Forerunners they were in techonlogy and in Mind.
Am I correct in my math or wrong?
101,000 centuries is 10,100,000 years. So if the Flood is saying that Unity will come 101,000 centuries after the fall of the Forerunner empire, then we have the guarantee that the Flood will not consume everything for approximately ten-million years after “modern” Halo, giving humanity the same amount of time the Forerunners were given (post massacre of the Precursors’ organic forms).
It could be that the Flood’s consumption of everything at that time isn’t guaranteed, that this is the threat meant to galvanize the surviving sentient races into what they’re meant to be.

Or the Promordial was referring to the Precursors plan to use the Flood to consume everything 10,100,000 years after their defeat in the Forerunner-Precursor war which would mean doing so in present-day Halo or by 3000 A.D.
10,100,000 years would be the span of time between the Forerunner-Precursor war to present day Halo give or take. I believe the Primordial was telling Iso-Didact, Chakas and Riser and Forthencho when the “End of Day” was going to happen.
“Until all space and time is rolled up and life crushed between the folds” were it’s words. This implies Armaggedon, End of Days, Apocalypse etc. This most likely means Siltentium-style Flood or worse than that is going to come given what Silentium style Flood can do to reality. It’s heavily implied if the Flood wins in the end, the universe will become a literal Hell where life is born into eternal suffering, misery and agony.
I’m like 99% sure it was a typo and Greg Bear confirmed that it was supposed to say years.

I’ll ask him. Assuming he even remembers.
