Being Security Forces with the Air Force, I’m always explaining to my friends how the biggest challenge you can ever face while in combat is tunnel vision; being so focused on the primary objective that you have no situational awareness of whats around you. I tell them that you can even see it in video games, especially Infection.
Today, my brother and I were playing some Alpha Zombies and we were the last two survivors, so we decided to be total cowards and go hide in a small house.
We hid for about a minute and 45 seconds (not my proudest 1.45 minutes). He was sitting on top of my head, making a Spartan Tower.
We got the most golden example of tunnel vision.
So as a lesson guys! Situational Awareness
Don’t let tunnel vision disable your ability to thoroughly complete the mission.
