Primary weapons decision

First, how do you guys think the carbine will hold up agaisnt lets say the dmr?

Also since there are now 3 auto primarys which one is the best, and will any of them even stand a chance against precision weapons?

anyone?

Carbine is weaker than DmR and BR, and Promy Light Rifle has too much recoil, I guess it’s going to be hard for some to master.
The auto rifles, which ever one is the last to unlock. Don’t they always save the best for last?

I think the carbine will hold up against a DMR because it’ll be hard to land a shot against that high Rate of Fire. Similar to the Needle Rifle’s awesome suppressive ability in Reach.

I think DMR’s best, to be honest, so long as it’s in the hands of someone capable.

its weaker but it also shoots faster. I wonder which kill time is faster in this build

I agree with you on the Carbine. It’s decent at long range (And will give any scoped DMR user without Stability a headache) and at close range those green bolts are nice disorienters. I liked the DMR in Reach but I’ll definitely be trying out the Carbine. Perhaps the Light Rifle as well, though that will take some skill to manage effectively.

As far as automatic weapons go, I think that rate of fire decreases but range increases from Suppressor to AR to Storm Rifle, so if I end up wanting an auto as a primary I’ll likely be choosing Storm.

I don’t like the return of the Reach weapons. I had it in my head that most of the stuff on Reach were either prototypes or earlier forms of what was the now-now. EX: DMR primitive BR, and the alarm clock AR… The Needle rifle was doopy, and the rest were lost in the fiery pits of Mordor.

I wouldn’t choose an automatic based off of range; I’ve also heard the Storm Rifle is TERRIBLE. The AR is in between and apparently very powerful, and will also be what I’d choose as an automatic.
Chark, isn’t there only one Reach weapon returning? “Alarm clock AR”? :I

I feel that the surrpressor looked the weakest. Yet it did have an impressive fire rate. Althought the AR looked the strongest of the 3, it wouldn’t make sense that it is the strongest (auto) gun because you start off with it. So hopefully the storm rifle. Also I hate the DMR so I’m hoping the next best think is the carbine

Storm Rifle’s been buffed anyway, all weapons are good in different circumstances.

I played with the storm rifle at RTX and it was very powerful. It killed faster than the AR but has less range because the plasma bolts aren’t hitscan and travel slower.

Has it really been buffed since then?

I think the suppressor looks terrible. It has the least range and takes 80% of a mag to kill somebody. It has slightly higher killtimes than the storm rifle at melee range but I don’t think it’s worth it to use.

AR is gonna be my favorite. I love getting in close.
