Primary weapon balance: how to address them

The weapon balance in halo 4 is not very good. Right now most people use the DMR and boltshot combo. The DMR needs a slight nerf, and the boltshot needs a pretty drastic nerf.

There are many ways to balance out the DMR with the primary weapons in halo 4.

1:343 could take the easy route and just nerf the RoF so that it takes the same amount of time to kill as a BR user that takes 15 bullets to kill (the very end of the 5th burst)

2 343 could make the DMR 's killtime the same as the BR’s is now and do the following: make the BR a 4sk, remove recoil and greatly reduce the bullet magnetism, make the carbine a 7sk, possibly make automatic weapons kill ever so slightly quicker (by 1 or 2 bullets), and keep the lightrifle the same.

3: 343 could greatly reduce the bullet magnetism of the DMR, make the BR a 4SK, remove its recoil, and completely remove bullet magnetism (or make the spread more) make the carbine a 7sk, and keep the lightrifle the same

these would greatly help the primary weapons balance because it would be taking into account that the DMR is mainly meant for long range fights, while still making it a viable choice on smaller maps (currently if someone likes the DMR and is good with it, they are better at all ranges regardless of what weapon you have)

Now for the boltshot. This weapon is like a shotgun, and in some cases even better, and more consistent than a -Yoinking!- scattershot! there are 2 ways I can think to fix this

1: half the range, and make the shot completely rip off shields (killing them if their at half shields)

2: the longer you charge the boltshot the stronger it becomes. It starts at charging 2 bullets all the way to 10 the longer its charged the larger the redicle for the boltshot gets, until its soo big its larger than a spartans body. If you manage to charge up to 10 bullets you kill the spartan, but keep in mind the size of the redicle. (it starts charging bullets at the same speed it takes for the current boltshot to charge, and then release a shot.

There are probably a lot of better ways to fix the boltshot but these are my creative ideas (especially #2)

I’m going to say:
I like #2 for the primaries: feels stronger, DMR longer range, more balanced kill times.
And #1 for the Boltshot, as then it would work like it should: as a Halo 3 Mauler.

I think it’s very simple.

All utility precision weapons need the same bullet magnetism, as of right now the only weapon excluded is The Carbine.

The DMR needs a slightly slower ROF, Reduce the flinch intensity, and the same range as the LR in scope, and the same range as every other UPW (Utility Precision Weapon) which is around 31.5 meters.
I personally think that would be a very sensible way of balancing the DMR.

The Carbine needs it’s bullet magnetism balanced out to the same as every other UPW, and it’s kill time reduced responsibly.

The BR needs to be stripped of recoil in order to keep up with other weapons, and I also believe it’s ROF should be slightly increased.

The LR is by far my favorite weapon, and the only issues I have with it is it’s awful in/out of scope reticles, and how you do not breach camp while using it.

Lastly I come to the boltshot. REMOVE IT FROM LOAD OUTS FOR THE LOVE OF BILL MURRAY!
